Check Your Smartphone Before Visiting a Roadside Station to See “What’s Available Now?” ~ Launch of “Nana Live,” a Real-Time Store Floor Image Streaming Service ~
BITS CO., LTD.
Bits Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo) began sales of its real-time store floor image streaming system, “Nana Live,” in September 2026.A 14-month pilot test conducted at the “Minori no Sato Togane” roadside station (Togane City, Chiba Prefecture) revealed, as of the end of September 2026, that the practice of users checking the “current” state of the sales floor themselves before visiting the store is becoming increasingly widespread.

Nana Live streams images of the sales floor every 10 minutes.
■ Check the “current” state of the sales floor via Nana Live on your smartphone
We analyzed access data from the 14-month period between August 2025 and September 2026, along with a total of 194 survey responses and interviews—104 conducted on-site and 90 online.
Consumers commented, “It’s great to be able to check before I go,” and “Being able to see this in high resolution really builds trust in the store.”Producers also shared that they use the service to monitor sales and arrange additional shipments, saying, “It’s incredibly encouraging to see the vegetables I set out in the morning selling out quickly,” and “Sales are especially brisk on weekends, so I check the feed and bring in another shipment in the afternoon.”
In the producer survey, 96% expressed a desire for the service to continue, and about half said they would like to use it as a reference for deciding on shipments in the future.
Nana Live is being utilized as a source of information that conveys the current state of the sales floor and supports decisions regarding store visits and shipments.
■ What Consumers Want to Know: “What Will I Find If I Go There Now?”
At farmers’ markets, the selection of fruits and vegetables changes depending on the time of day, and shelves may be restocked with additional shipments.
Nana Live automatically captures images of the sales floor every 10 minutes using high-resolution cameras, providing real-time updates without requiring staff to take or post photos. Consumers and producers can check the product selection and crowd levels from their smartphones or computers.
The manager of Minori no Sato Higashikane has reported that since introducing Nana Live, there has been a decrease in phone inquiries about product availability, such as “Do you have watermelons right now?”
A survey of local customers also revealed that the top information they wanted to check via live streaming included “seasonal fruits,” “specific popular items,” “stock levels of everyday vegetables,” and “crowding inside the store.”

■ “Checking the Sales Floor” Before Visiting Gains Popularity
Immediately after the launch of Nana Live, many customers accessed the service by scanning QR codes inside the store. Recently, however, there has been an increase in users accessing the service via search engines like Google and Yahoo!; combined usage—including access via search engines, bookmarks, and direct URL entry—increased by approximately 142% year-over-year in September 2026.
The way the service is used is shifting from consumers simply learning about it while inside the store to actively seeking out information about the sales floor on their own. This shift suggests that the practice of checking “what products are currently on the shelves” before visiting the store is becoming established.
Our own research also shows that when users search for terms like “farmers’ market + live camera,” Nana Live consistently appears near the top of the results, and we have confirmed instances where Nana Live is featured in summaries and recommendations generated by Google Search’s AI.
■ From High Interest in Live Images to Actual Use: Research Findings Win Academic Award
In a joint research project with Akita University, we examined how real-time images of store floors influence people’s interest and confirmed that viewers show higher levels of interest when viewing live images than when viewing traditional advertisements. These research findings received the “Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Engineering Award” at the Society’s National Conference in September 2026.
By analyzing ongoing operations at physical stores alongside feedback from consumers and producers, as well as access data, it has become clear that Nana Live is beginning to drive not only research-based “interest” but also actual behaviors such as gathering information before visiting a store and making shipping decisions.

■Advertisements “convey” a message. Nana Live lets viewers “verify” for themselves.
In today’s information-saturated world, while advertisements and social media convey a store’s appeal, Nana Live provides video content that is close to firsthand information—allowing consumers to directly check the sales floor in real time.
Whether the product selection is abundant or running low, the sales floor is shown exactly as it is at that moment. It is the consumers themselves who decide, “I’ll go today” or “It looks like they have what I want right now.”
Nana Live aims to create an information environment where consumers can make informed decisions about visiting the store or making a purchase after verifying the real-time sales floor information—in addition to the information stores share through ads and social media—for themselves via live streaming.
■ Showing the “Here and Now” of the Sales Floor: That Transparency Builds Trust
Showing the current state of the sales floor is not merely about communicating product selection or inventory levels. The fact that consumers can “check for themselves at any time” creates a sense of reassurance and builds trust in the store.
By continuously sharing unedited information from the sales floor, Nana Live enhances transparency. As a “real-time promotional media” platform that supports the trust between stores and consumers, we will continue to expand our services to roadside stations, farmers’ markets, tourist facilities, and commercial complexes.
