Nireco Launches the "BCON6000," a High-Speed, High-Definition Printing Quality Inspection System

Nireco Corporation (Headquarters: Hachioji City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichi Nakasugi) has recently launched the “BCON6000” print quality inspection system.

The BCON6000 is a newly developed pattern inspection system that features completely redesigned hardware based on the printing quality inspection technology the company has cultivated over many years. In addition to the company’s proprietary scoring system—which has proven its effectiveness in the previous model, the BCON5000—it offers higher precision in defect size assessment and supports quantitative defect analysis and quality evaluation.

Furthermore, by incorporating a proprietary high-speed image processing board, a CoaXPress interface, and a 3-CMOS color line-scan camera, the system achieves high-speed, high-precision image inspection. Additionally, the pattern-matching function—which features significantly improved accuracy and tracking speed—reduces synchronization errors caused by product stretching or meandering, enabling stable print quality inspection.

Nireco’s BCON series of print quality inspection systems is used in a wide range of printing-related fields, including flexible packaging, seal and label printing, paper packaging, hygiene product printing, and bag printing.The previous model, the BCON5000, has sold approximately 220 units between 2015 and 2026, supporting print quality control across a wide range of production sites.

The newly released BCON6000, as the successor to the previous model, incorporates the latest image processing platform to improve inspection performance and installation flexibility. In recent years, as demands for print quality have become increasingly stringent, there has been a growing need for defect visualization, quantitative assessment of inspection results, and flexible implementation tailored to specific equipment conditions.To meet these market needs, we are launching the BCON6000—a new model that offers improved image uniformity and reproducibility, defect detection, and synchronization stability—and aim to sell a cumulative total of 100 units over the next three years.

The BCON6000 achieves high image uniformity and reproducibility by combining a 3CMOS color line-scan camera with lens aberration correction technology. Additionally, it supports cable lengths of up to 70 meters*1 from the control panel to the camera, enabling flexible installation to suit equipment layouts and production line conditions.

Furthermore, its high-precision pattern-matching function reduces synchronization errors caused by product expansion, contraction, or meandering. This enables more stable inspection than ever before, helping to suppress false detections and improve the reliability of inspection results.In addition to our proprietary scoring system—which has been highly regarded in previous models—the system’s enhanced defect size assessment supports flexible inspection operations tailored to the quality standards of each production site.

The system is primarily designed for pattern inspection, though it can also handle solid-color inspections to some extent, depending on the conditions.Supported processes include gravure printing, flexographic printing, and label printing; depending on conditions, the system is also intended for use in digital printing, dry lamination, extrusion lamination, rewinding machines, slitting machines, coating machines, gusseting machines, and bag-making machines.
