Asentec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Matsuura;hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) is pleased to announce that the Toride City Hall (Address: 5139 Terada, Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture) has adopted the Company’s “Remote PC Array 100” as a new terminal infrastructure for its LGWAN connection system and telework environment.
We are also pleased to announce that a case study detailing this implementation has been posted on our website.

Remote PC Array Delivers the Benefit of “Dramatically Reduced Maintenance” While Significantly Curbing Rising Replacement Costs
■Background of the Implementation
To comply with the three-layer network separation required by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ “Model for Enhancing the Resilience of Local Government Information Systems,” Toride City had previously adopted a VDI approach, establishing an environment where a single terminal accessed multiple network layers.
However, as the time approached for the renewal of the entire information server infrastructure, design and cost estimates based on the conventional approach revealed that—due to the combined effects of recent inflation and soaring license fees for virtualization software such as hypervisors—a massive budget, more than four times that of the previous renewal, would be required.
To resolve the above issues, the introduction of the “Remote PC Array 100” remote access infrastructure was considered.
■Reasons for Selection
・Simple configuration and ease of operation and management
・High cost-effectiveness due to the elimination of virtualization licenses
・Proven stable operation at other local governments and comprehensive support
■Benefits of Implementation
・Rapid deployment in approximately six months and a smooth transition across the entire government agency
・Regular maintenance downtime reduced to virtually zero, improving business continuity
・Flexible telework enabled by utilizing branch offices

■What Is a Remote PC Array?
This remote access solution consolidates multiple physical PC cartridges and the components necessary for virtual desktops into a single 1U-sized chassis. We designed and developed it in-house, drawing on the expertise we’ve cultivated through over 20 years of experience in selling and deploying virtual desktops.
While traditional virtual desktops provide high security and a flexible telework environment, their deployment and operation have traditionally required advanced IT skills and a significant amount of time. The Remote PC Array pursues “improved PC consolidation rates,” “reduced implementation costs,” “shorter implementation times,” and “enhanced maintainability and operability” while maintaining robust security. Its excellent operability has been highly praised, and it has now been implemented in numerous companies and local governments.

Remote PC Array Usage Overview
● Features
・No hypervisor required, significantly shortening design and deployment time while drastically reducing initial implementation costs
・Performance issues are minimized through the use of one cartridge per user
・Reduces maintenance and operational costs through a simple configuration and management system
・Consists of PC cartridges with identical specifications, making it ideal as an execution environment for RPA scenarios
