CenturyArks Launches Academic Support Program on July 21; First Initiative: Event Cameras at Special Pricing

CenturyArks Co., Ltd. Leveraging its extensive expertise in the development and manufacturing of compact, high-performance camera modules and event cameras, the company will begin offering the program on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to support a wide range of research activities with advanced imaging technology and technical know-how.

First Academic Support Initiative & SilkyEvCam (VGA)

The company has long supported students and researchers through various initiatives, including joint research utilizing the event-based vision camera (hereinafter “event camera”) “SilkyEvCam®”*1), hosting seminars and exhibiting at trade shows, introducing research content via its website and other communication channels, providing technical support on camera usage, and holding application idea contests for event cameras. Additionally, in 2025, the company is undertaking initiatives to bolster research activities, such as offering the entry-level model SilkyEvCam (VGA) at a special price.

The “Frontiers in Vision” program, which we are launching now, is an academic support program designed to systematize these activities and provide them continuously through a wider variety of methods.

As the first phase of this program, we are offering the “SilkyEvCam (VGA)”—ideal for those experiencing event cameras, the latest image sensing technology, for the first time—at a special academic price.Building on the academic campaign conducted in 2025, we have expanded the program’s scope and will apply additional discounts for purchases of multiple units at the same time or for existing customers adding more units to their current setup.

[About Software Supporting Our Event Cameras]

In addition to the software toolkit from Prophesee *2)—a pioneer in event-based technology—we have developed “SilkyEvCam Studio,” software designed for SilkyEvCam products. It supports adjustment of various parameters, recording (saving raw files), playback, and slow-motion playback, and is scheduled to be released in July 2026. Students and researchers currently using SilkyEvCam products can use this software free of charge.
