Development history of our products
Our company is a processing factory established in 1927 and located in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, whose main business is metal press working. About 90% of our processed products were "Seki cutlery", mainly press work for parts of pocket knives. Since 2007, when the current representative director, Toshiharu Koishi, the fourth generation, took office, pocket knife manufacturers have gradually been closing their businesses, and the number of pocket knife manufacturers has now decreased by about 80%.
We have gradually invested in equipment to enable us to perform simple machining, welding, and sheet-metal processing in-house, and now we are able to produce a variety of metal parts, including Seki knife parts, automobile parts, construction parts, elevator parts, metal hardware for resin products, and machine parts. We are now able to manufacture a variety of metal parts, including Seki knife parts, automotive parts, construction parts, elevator parts, metal hardware for plastic products, and machine parts.
In December 2020, we introduced a state-of-the-art fiber laser processing machine. We repeated trial-and-error and prototype production to see if we could develop products using our metal processing technology.
How "Kazukazari" was born
The birth of "Kazukazari" was triggered by the "Gifu Nobunaga Festival" held in Gifu City in November 2022. Actor Takuya Kimura played the role of Nobunaga Oda, and together with Hideaki Ito, a native of Gifu, he made Gifu all the more exciting. During the festival, Koishi's partner was fascinated by the beauty of Nobunaga Oda's family crest, and suggested that he could make a kimono sash decoration with Nobunaga Oda's family crest (Oda Mokuri), which he decided to produce. The result was a brass strap with the crest of the warlord made of brass with "brass openwork engraving.
The popularity of warlords was growing among various generations due to games, animations, dramas, and movies based on the theme of the Warring States period, and the "Brass Warlord Family Crest Strap" became our first product. The company's first product, the "brass samurai crest strap," achieved its goal on Makuake, a new product support purchase service, in May 2023.
