The "PPLS Digital Specific Gravimeter" is an electronic balance with an integrated water tank that can measure the specific gravity of a substance using Archimedes' principle by measuring the weight of the object in air and in water.

With a weight measurement range of 0.01 to 300 g and an analytical resolution of 0.001 g/cm3 units, the balance achieves a high level of accuracy that does not interfere with analysis.

The use of a glass dish and steel basket as accessories enables measurement of granular materials such as metal grains, and the use of the supplied restraining fittings enables measurement of specific gravity of floating materials such as plastics.

Since the previous model of this product had received many inquiries from precious metal appraisers of gold, silver, platinum, etc., this product comes with a list of specific gravities that can be used as a reference for precious metal appraisals.

Compared to the specific gravity of iron (approx. 7.9), the specific gravity of gold and platinum, which are precious metals, is much higher at 19 and 21, respectively, so the specific gravity measurement of the base metal itself, without being misled by engraving or plating, is an essential analysis for precious metal appraisal.
