Algae was also the topic of Dr. Tomomi Himeno's lecture! Algae supplement "Moneru" to exhibit at the International Symposium on Nutritional Medicine 2024

TOKYO (September 25, 2024) - Algal Bio, committed to "Cultivating Algae's
Potential for a Better Future", exhibited a booth at the International
Symposium on Nutritional Medicine 2024, held on September 15-16, 2024,
and introduced its algae supplement, Moneru, to medical and healthcare
professionals.
The International Symposium on Nutritional Medicine 2024 was held at the
Shinagawa Grand Central Tower on September 15-16, 2024 under the theme
“Orthomolecular Medicine Pioneers the Future of Well-being". Dr. Tomomi
Himeno, Director of the Tomomi Himeno Clinic and the symposium chairperson, gave the opening address and discussed how algae can help maintain health. It was a good opportunity to make our research and development of algae widely known to doctors at medical institutions and companies involved in healthcare.
Moneru is an algae supplement developed by our PhD in Algae focusing on
good rest. Since March 2023, the product has mostly been sold to clinics and
has been well received by doctors from different specialties. Through
participation in workshops and symposiums attended by physicians and others from medical institutions, we have grown our business, and we currently sell
our products at 22 clinics. (As of September 19, 2024)
The "Chlorella AL-0015 strain" contained in Moneru is a proprietary Chlorella
strain screened from a number of algae strains by our company, based on
more than 20 years of algae research at the University of Tokyo, focusing on
"causes that hinder rest". Algae have been a part of the Earth for around 3
billion years, and it is estimated that there are approximately 300,000 species
on the planet. To apply this diversity of algae to various industries, we have
established our own 'algae library' of 1260 strains of 100 species, and we have
accumulated culture data for each species and strain, as well as in vivo/ in
vitro test results. AL-0015, a proprietary algal strain, was identified through
multiple screenings from our library.
Also, we are conducting a demonstration experiment to solve health issues
using Moneru. Moneru has so far been adopted in a demonstration
experiment at ITOCHU Corporation(*1) and is being used for health
management in various industries, including law firms and IT companies.
In addition, to clarify the effects of [algae] on health, we are promoting
double-blind studies and accumulating clinical data at the Hime-no-Tomomi
Clinic.
