Doctor Bank, Inc. The system is characterized by "pay-as-you-go" pricing. While a high fixed fee is required to use a remote diagnostic imaging system, this system is based on a "pay-as-you-need" system that allows users to make requests only when necessary. Diagnostic radiologists, who have seen more than 10,000 cases a year, read the images. By collecting more cases, we hope to further improve our reading techniques. We also plan to commercialize the system in the future.

■Why did an active diagnostic radiologist develop a remote image diagnosis system?

Remote image diagnosis refers to sending CT, MRI, and other images taken at hospitals, clinics, and other medical institutions to a radiologist in a remote location for diagnosis via the Internet or other means. Kageyama, who developed this system, has been involved in remote diagnostic imaging for more than 20 years since 2003, when it was in its infancy. While he has seen more than 10,000 cases per year, he feels that his own technology has reached a plateau in recent years. In order to improve his skills, he wanted to collect more cases, which led him to develop his own remote diagnostic imaging system.

Features of the "Diagnostic Imaging Lounge

(1) Complete pay-as-you-go system

Normally, when using a remote diagnostic imaging system, it is necessary to pay a high fixed fee or purchase special equipment. This does not meet the needs of hospitals and clinics that want to make requests only when necessary. To solve such problems, we have introduced a complete pay-as-you-go system. This system allows customers to request only those cases that are difficult or require accurate diagnosis.

(2) High confidentiality

In the "Diagnostic Imaging Lounge," all medical information and images are viewed only by Kageyama, and are never seen by others. In addition, the highly secure system is characterized by low risk of information leakage and high confidentiality. We can meet the needs of those who want to obtain a second opinion without the knowledge of doctors at the same hospital, those who want a diagnostic imaging report for settlement lawsuits, and those who want help with research while also protecting confidentiality.

(3) Ability to provide not only images but also video

In the case of remote imaging systems from other companies, diagnostic results are only provided in the form of reports (textual information) and key images (e.g., jpg of transmitted image), or at best, orthogonal MPRs are generated. The "Diagnostic Imaging Lounge" can send raw data, and can provide not only transmitted images, but also movies (e.g. mp4), 3D images (e.g. VR, MIP), reconstructed images (orthogonal and curved MPR), etc., for better diagnosis. The viewer uses OsiriXMD (Mac only) and can provide many post-processed images as key images.

(4) Lower fees and higher diagnostic accuracy when requesting CT, MRI, PET-CT, etc. at the same time.

In the case of conventional remote diagnostic imaging, different physicians may read different tests on the same patient, and the results are often inconsistent and the fees are charged separately, which is relatively expensive. In the "Diagnostic Imaging Lounge," the fee for CT, MRI, PET-CT, etc. can be reduced at an accelerated rate by requesting them at the same time. The comprehensive diagnosis is made by referring to each of the images, which also leads to improved diagnostic accuracy.

■Aggressively collecting difficult and rare cases for the development of medical care

In the Diagnostic Imaging Lounge, we would like to actively collect cases that are difficult or rare to diagnose. We believe that increasing the number of diagnoses of such cases will not only improve our own reading skills, but also lead to the development of medical care. We also believe that lowering the cost and hurdles of remote diagnostic imaging by introducing full payment on a case-by-case basis will benefit not only hospitals and clinics, but also patients, which is why we decided to release this product.
