Tokyo Washi Co., Ltd. (Location: Taito-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Kaho Shinoda), which manufactures handmade washi (Japanese paper) from scratch using raw materials produced in Tokyo, has developed a bow tie made of handmade washi that can be enjoyed by owners and cats as a pair, as a product that connects the bonds between people and cats, The company started pre-order sales on the crowdfunding site "CAMPFIRE" on November 1, 2023 (Wed.). This project will run until Sunday, December 31.

This project started with the idea of promoting washi paper goods that allow owners and their cats to pair up in style after an encounter with "Kami," a signboard cat that suddenly wandered into the store in June 2022.

The returned goods include a special bow tie made of washi paper mixed with the hair of the owner's cat, which was encouraged by a conversation with a deceased friend about her cat.

In addition, Tokyo Washi offers a washi making workshop, where upcycled products mixed with omikuji (fortune tellers) and vegetables that are about to be discarded are proposed as a new SDGs product.
