Starting on November 10, “Physical AI Day,” We are now accepting applications for new business and social implementation projects in next-generation industries.

— Turning technologies and ideas in robotics, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other fields into business opportunities No application or initial fees; low-cost monthly flat-rate plan —

Artificial Intelligence Development Fund Secretariat, Japan X-TECH Federation

The Secretariat of the Artificial Intelligence Development Fund and the Japan X-TECH Federation will begin accepting applications for new business and social implementation projects from companies, organizations, and other entities starting on Tuesday, November 10, 2026—“Physical AI Day.”We are seeking unique technologies and business ideas from fields such as robotics, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and nursing care, and agriculture; once selected, these projects will be able to utilize the commemorative day’s name and trademark for business purposes.

Physical AI Day

■ Purpose of the Call for Proposals

Physical AI is a technological field in which AI is integrated with sensors, machinery, robots, and other devices to operate while recognizing and assessing real-world situations. We invite companies, organizations, and other entities to propose new business ventures in areas such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare and nursing care, construction, agriculture, and safety assessment, leveraging their technologies, products, research results, and specialized personnel.Proposals at the conceptual stage are eligible, not just those involving fully developed technologies.

■Mechanism for Commercialization

Submissions, consultations, and reviews are all free of charge. Upon selection, a non-exclusive business use license will generally be granted, allowing for commercialization with zero initial costs or initial license fees.

Royalties associated with commercial use will be based on a “fixed-rate royalty system” starting at several thousand yen per month, which is not proportional to sales revenue; for sales-based businesses, this system generally applies starting the month following the first sale. For use in education, study groups, events, and similar contexts, individual contracts will be arranged based on the specific content.

(1) [Official Type] Utilize the name and trademark of the “Advanced Science and Technology Commemoration Day,” which is a registered trademark.

(2) [Incubation Type]: Utilize commemorative day themes prepared by the Federation prior to trademark application, or propose new technical themes. The Federation will bear the necessary trademark application costs upon adoption.

■The Origin of “Physical AI Day” on November 10

On November 10, 2020, the academic paper “Skills for physical artificial intelligence” by Aslan Miriyev and Mirko Kovac was published in the international academic journal *Nature Machine Intelligence*.

This paper outlined Physical Artificial Intelligence (Physical AI)—which integrates artificial intelligence with the physical structure, senses, and movements of robots—presenting an interdisciplinary research framework spanning mechanical engineering, computer science, biology, chemistry, and materials science, along with the educational and research directions necessary for its development.

We view this academic publication as one of the historic milestones in the development of Physical AI and have designated November 10 as “Physical AI Day.”
