New Work by Tokumaru: Ken Daito
This film brings to life the “power-based action” that Ken Daito has pursued for many years. Drawing on the physical abilities he cultivated as a former Japanese arm-wrestling champion, as well as his experience in Shorinji Kempo, Nihon Kempo, and full-contact karate, he pursues a unique style of action that fuses martial arts with power sports.
On September 12, 2026, at the “Festival Film Pertukaran Budaya Bali” (Bali Cultural Exchange Film Festival) held on the island of Bali, Indonesia, this film won seven awards—including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Leading Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay,Audience Choice Award, and the Special Jury Prize—out of 17 participating films.

In addition to winning awards at the film festival, screenings were also held at educational institutions in Bali. While bringing Japanese action films to local children, a commemorative tree-planting ceremony was also held, and these activities are expanding into cultural and educational exchanges between Japan and Indonesia, spurred by the film.
Through action sequences, this film aims to convey the love between parents and children and to teach children the physical reality that “hitting someone hurts, and being hit hurts,” while also conveying the meaning of having power and the importance of not hurting others.
Furthermore, the certificates for each award won at the Bali Cultural Exchange Film Festival will bear an official number issued by the festival’s Academy Secretariat and will be issued as official records of the awards.
This achievement of winning seven awards at international film festivals will be preserved in history as an official record.

Seven Awards Won at the Bali Cultural Exchange Film Festival
[A “Power-Packed Action Movie” Born from an Amateur Screenplay]
What is particularly noteworthy about this film is that it was “born from an amateur screenplay.”
The screenplay was written by Chihiro Daito, the wife of Ken Daito. The production of this film did not begin with a career as a professional screenwriter; rather, it started with the process of shaping a single story.
The story begins when a salesman in a powered suit (played by Yasuhiro Shirazawa) is abducted by aliens (played by Hayata Hongo, Kanako Kumada, and Koichi Arai).
A part-time employee at a shipping company, who suffers from workplace harassment and discrimination, grows through the love and support he receives from those around him—including customers, delivery drivers, a karate instructor, and the staff at a curry shop run by a “rat woman”—and eventually dons an inexpensive factory-made powered suit to take on a battle against a half-alien.
However, this film does not simply depict a story of “good defeating evil.”
The themes of the work include:
“Justice creates evil, and evil creates justice,”
—a concept in which justice and evil are two sides of the same coin.
Regarding the screenplay, toy appraiser Naoyoshi Kozai, who viewed the film, praised it as “a movie that should be shared with the world today.” Additionally, action actor Ken Daito paid courtesy calls to the mayor and superintendent of education in Shijonawate City, Osaka Prefecture, where he resides. This time as well, courtesy visits to the mayor and superintendent of education of Shijonawate City have been scheduled, as well as a courtesy visit to the president of Nara Gakuen University (formerly Nara Sangyo University), his alma mater.
Furthermore, Hiroshi Fujioka, who appeared in the film as a voice actor, also offered praise for the screenplay, drawing attention not only to the action but also to the story itself.
[From Domestic Theatrical Releases and Streaming to a Film Festival Grand Prix]
The completed film premiered in April 2025 at the Kobe Motomachi Cinema and was subsequently screened at small theaters and multiplexes. It was then featured in television reports and went on to win the Grand Prix at the 3rd Tamba International Film Festival.
Furthermore, in July 2025, Cinematoday published an article featuring the film. The article noted that the film continues to rank high on Cinematoday’s “Notable Films Access Ranking,” alongside titles such as *F1*, *Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom*, and *National Treasure*.

Produced as an educational film that uses the 2024 transportation crisis as a catalyst to raise awareness about social issues such as workplace harassment and discrimination, the film attracted coverage from online news outlets in the transportation industry. The trailer garnered a significant response, surpassing 100,000 views on “Cinema Today.”
Subsequently, it was screened at venues such as 109 Cinemas Meiwa and Naramachi Theater Seidan-za. Despite being an independently produced film, it has expanded to be shown in over 20 theaters nationwide.
Furthermore, with its release on U-NEXT, the film is expanding its reach from theaters to streaming platforms.
[To Bali, Produced by Nara City Tourism Ambassador Tokumaru Shin’s New Work]
Subsequently, the film’s reach extended beyond Japan to the Indonesian island of Bali.
Produced by actor Shinsaku Tokumaru, a Nara City Tourism Ambassador, the film was entered into the “Festival Film Pertukaran Budaya Bali (Bali Cultural Exchange Film Festival),” held on September 12, 2026.
At the festival, which featured 17 entries, the film won seven awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Leading Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Audience Choice Award, and the Special Jury Prize.
In addition to being recognized as a film, the project also served as a platform for cultural exchange between Japan and Bali.
Screenings were also held at educational institutions in Bali. In addition to introducing Japanese action films to local children, a commemorative tree-planting ceremony was held, and these activities have expanded into cultural and educational exchanges between Japan and Indonesia, spurred by the film. Furthermore, coverage of these events was published in the Jakarta Shimbun.

Commemorative Tree Planting
[From “Dedicated Exclusively to Action Acting” to the World]
Action actor Ken Daito has been active in the field for over 35 years, pursuing a style of “power-based action” that leverages the physical abilities he honed as a former Japanese arm-wrestling champion, as well as his experience in martial arts and power sports.
He calls himself a “Kung Fu Arm Wrestler” and founded “Rikigen-do” (The Way of Manifesting Strength), a discipline that fuses martial arts and power sports.

Powerhouse Action Actor Ken Daito
[Producer Shinsaku Tokumaru’s Comments]
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for receiving the highly prestigious “Best Producer Award” and “Best Supporting Actor Award.”
My connection with Bali began about 30 years ago when I was captivated by the island’s music, dance, and traditional performing arts, and wondered, “Could I combine Japan’s sword-fighting culture with Balinese performing arts?”
Since then, I have continued cultural exchanges—such as samurai musicals—with colleagues in Japan and Bali, and this time, I’ve been able to expand my activities into a new medium: film.
I have infused *~Transport Dragon~ Powered Human Battle Courier* with themes of hope, courage, kindness, and the courage to stand up to protect others.
This award is not the result of my efforts alone. It is thanks to the actors, staff, and artists from Japan and Bali who worked with me to create this film, as well as everyone who supported us.
I consider this award one to be shared with everyone who has walked alongside me for the past 30 years.
Moving forward, I will continue to foster cultural exchange between Japan, Bali, and the world through film.
Thank you so much. I offer my heartfelt gratitude.
