The “After-School Hotel,” operated by the Holonic General Incorporated Association (located in Higashinada Ward, Kobe City;Representative Director: Ichiro Nagata), will host the “2nd Rainbow-Colored Kids’ Market in Maiko Park,” a hands-on event where children take center stage, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park.
At the first event, the children of Gakudo Hotel took the lead in everything from planning and preparation to sales, using the occasion as a platform to share what they had learned with the local community. For the second edition, the initiative will expand further, featuring four distinct areas: “WORK” (where children run their own booths), “LEARN” (learning), “STAGE” (self-expression), and “ACTION” (doing good for society). Approximately 40 booths will gather, offering job experiences, workshops, stage performances, a kids’ market, food trucks, and more.
A single challenge can create a “positive impact” on their own future, the future of others, and the future of the community. We aim to create a day where children encounter local residents and various jobs, turning their “I want to try that” into action.

■Evolving since the first event: From a “kids’ work” market to a market that “contributes to the future of the community”
At the first “Niji-iro Kids Market,” held in front of Tarumi Station in March 2026, children from the after-school program at the “Schoolchildren’s Hotel” thought for themselves about “what to sell” and “how to make people happy,” and took on the challenge of planning, preparing, serving customers, and selling items at a kids’ café.For the second edition, the venue moves to Maiko Park, and the event scales up to become a community-wide effort supporting the children’s endeavors.
The theme is “Take on one challenge, and you’ll add one ‘good thing’ to the future.” Whether it’s taking on a new job, learning something for the first time, expressing their interests and strengths, or taking action for the community and society—through each of these experiences, we aim to create opportunities for children to truly feel their connection to society.

■ Supporting Children’s “I Want to Try” in 4 Areas
WORK | Children Run Their Own Stalls
From the “Smile! Excitement Kids Café” at the After-School Hotel to shops run by child artists, children themselves stand behind the counter and take on the challenge of serving customers and making sales.
LEARN|Learning
Children will learn “real-world” skills from local companies and organizations through activities such as a vehicle maintenance experience with Kobe Mazda Co., Ltd., making robot keychains and LED lanterns, and egg-related workshops.
STAGE|Expressing Themselves
Through cheerleading, hip-hop, hula dancing, children’s songs, and kids’ yoga, children showcase their daily activities and what they “love and are good at” in front of the local community.
ACTION|Doing Good for Society
Through activities such as learning about child labor, supporting people with disabilities, resource recycling, marine environmental conservation, and hair donation, children engage with social issues in a fun way and think about “what they can do themselves.”

Career Experience: Bed Making
■ Work vehicles will also be on display. About 40 booths where parents and children can enjoy themselves will gather at Maiko Park.
The venue will feature a fire truck from the Tarumi Fire Department (11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.) as well as patrol cars and police motorcycles from the Tarumi Police Department, and visitors will have the chance to try on uniforms. In addition, there will be activities for parents and children to enjoy all day long, including a fish touch pool, a bouncy dome, bubble shows, balloon art, a festival fair, and food trucks. Set in the unique location of Maiko Park, overlooking the ocean and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the event offers a relaxing experience for both adults and children while fostering a sense of community.
■ Let’s all cheer on the children’s challenges together through the Support Stamp Rally
We’ll also hold a support stamp rally that takes participants through four areas: “WORK,” “LEARN,” “STAGE,” and “ACTION.” Participants can collect stamps while cheering on the children giving their best in each area, and the first 500 people to collect all four stamps will receive a gift. This initiative allows visitors to participate not just as “guests,” but also as supporters of the children’s challenges.
■The Goals of the After-School Hotel: Opening Experiences to the Community and Connecting Children with Society
Driven by the desire to “narrow the experiential gap, even if just a little,” the After-School Hotel partners with businesses and local residents to provide children with a variety of “authentic experiences” set within the hotel. The Niji-iro Kids Market is a practical venue where children can share their daily learning with the community and gain a real sense of “working” and “engaging with society.” For the second edition, we will expand the children’s challenges into experiences that lead to “positive outcomes” for the community and society, creating opportunities for the entire community to nurture the children’s future.

■What Is the After-School Hotel?
Children’s daily lives are a continuous series of “firsts.” However, the reality is that opportunities for these experiences vary depending on family background. The After-School Hotel was launched at Hotel Setre Kobe-Maiko with the goal of narrowing this experiential gap, even if only slightly. In the unique setting of a hotel, it provides a space where children can discover their “passions” and “strengths” through real-world work and encounters with people. Furthermore, seeing their children thrive brings peace of mind to parents. As a “third place” that fosters learning, experiences, and interaction, the After-School Hotel is working with businesses, government agencies, and the local community to spread a cycle of smiles.
