The eighth installment in the “Mercenaries Saga” series, *Mercenaries: Grace*, is scheduled for release in November 2026.

Ride On Japan Co., Ltd. (Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Kenichi Sonoda) is pleased to announce that the title of the latest installment in the “Mercenaries Saga” tactical simulation RPG series—the eighth in the series—has been finalized as “Mercenaries Grace: Black Wings and the Golden Right Arm.”Since the story of each game is self-contained, even players who have not played previous titles in the series can enjoy this new installment.

The latest title, “Mercenaries Grace,” is currently in development as a downloadable game for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, with a release scheduled for around November 2026.

● Upcoming Tactical Simulation RPG

“Mercenaries Grace” is a tactical simulation RPG where you form a mercenary squad that makes a living through battle, level up your characters, equip them with skills and gear, and clear stages.

On a grid-based, quarter-view battle map, you’ll command characters with various roles—such as Fighters who excel at melee attacks, Gunners who specialize in long-range attacks, and Priests who heal and support allies—to engage in battle.

This game employs a chess- or shogi-style turn-based system where “when one allied unit moves, one enemy unit moves next.” Since the standard strategy of “moving all allies to ensure safety” doesn’t work here, you must consider the risk of an immediate enemy counterattack with every move, creating a sense of tension.

[Swan]

The protagonist of this game and second-in-command of the Iron Arm Mercenary Corps. He’s cheerful, cares deeply for his comrades, and has the natural leadership qualities of someone who looks out for others. A man of action whose motto is “I’ll figure it out,” he never lets anyone see his weaknesses.He lost his hometown to the oppressive rule of Regent O’Neill during his childhood and, after enduring a harsh life as a child soldier, became a mercenary. Though he harbored hatred for O’Neill, after the regent’s death, he met Berta—who also despises O’Neill’s reign—and now places his hopes in the future of the new nation she envisions.

The daughter of the prestigious O’Neill family and a general of the Kingdom of Grauses. She has a principled and resolute personality, but she is quick to anger, and behind her tough exterior lies a fragile side. Driven by her rebellion against her older brother, Conrad O’Neill, she pursued the path of martial arts and has consistently upheld her pride as a knight.After her brother’s death, she becomes queen due to the machinations of various factions, but, inexperienced in politics and lacking allies, she finds herself at the mercy of her vassals. Though tormented by her own innocence, she continues to search for the path she believes in.

●Story / The tale of the encounter between a young mercenary and an unwanted queen

For many years, the Kingdom of Grauses had suffered under the oppressive rule and heavy taxes of Regent O’Neill. Following O’Neill’s death in battle, the people eagerly awaited the accession of Princess Serena, the late king’s only child, and the kingdom was poised to enter a new era.

However, around that time, the “Forbidden Tower” located in a restricted area in the northern part of the kingdom was attacked by the “Iron Arm Mercenary Corps,” led by Iron Arm Garsh. The protagonist, a young mercenary named Swan, and his companions rescued General Berta—O’Neill’s younger sister—from the tower.

Once freed, Bertha was proclaimed the next queen by O’Neill’s loyal subjects. A sudden struggle for the throne erupted, as these courtiers—determined to protect their vested interests—sought to overturn Serena’s accession.

Berta’s accession to the throne stirs up further turmoil in the Kingdom of Grauses. And what future awaits Swan and Berta, whose destinies have unexpectedly become intertwined?
