KYOTO Leather Participates in Paris Fashion Week "Flying Solo Runway Shows"

"KYOTO Leather," a Kyoto-based luxury leather brand(KYOTO Leather Co., Ltd. / Headquarters: Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; Representative Director: Toshihiro Tajiri) will participate in the “Flying Solo Runway Shows at Paris Fashion Week,” to be held during Paris Fashion Week on October 7, 2026.The venue is Hotel Le Marois (9-11 Avenue Franklin Delano Roosevelt) in central Paris. The company will showcase materials and products that combine Himeji leather with traditional Kyoto craft techniques—including Kyo-Yuzen and Nishijin-ori—to fashion industry professionals from around the world.

■Showcasing Kyoto’s Craftsmanship in Paris

The raw material is the hides of Japanese Wagyu cattle. Skins produced during the meat production process are meticulously tanned over time by skilled tanners in Himeji. By layering Kyoto techniques—including Kyoto Yuzen and Nishijin-ori—onto these hides, KYOTO Leather has built a unique artistic expression on a single piece of leather.We are bringing the traditional craftsmanship passed down through generations in our workshops to the Paris runway. This will be an opportunity for the world to witness just how far this Kyoto-born leather can go.
