The Standing Bar Festival Executive Committee, in collaboration with the Tokyo Edo Week Executive Committee (organizer) and with the support of Taito Ward, will hold the “Shitamachi Bon Odori Festival 2026 ~ Food Stall Market ~” on Friday, October 9, 2026, atTakeno-dai Plaza (in front of the fountain) in Ueno Onshi Park. The event will be held for four days only: October 9 (Fri), 10 (Sat), 11 (Sun), andthe 12th (Mon, Holiday).

Shitamachi Bon Odori Festival 2026

Held at Takenodai Plaza (in front of the fountain) in Ueno Onshi Park, this four-day event combines a traditional Japanese entertainment experience set against the backdrop of autumn in Ueno with a “Food Stall Market.”A total of 39 booths will be set up at the venue—including 28 food booths, 17 beverage booths, a festival fair, and 6 other booths—blending the excitement of traditional Bon Odori dances and the festival stage with “Shitamachi nights” featuring street food, drinks, and live music.

1. A 5-minute walk from JR Ueno Station. A “downtown night market” with excellent access

The venue is located at Takenodai Plaza (in front of the fountain) in Ueno Onshi Park. With a 2-minute walk from “Ueno Station” on the JR Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku, Takasaki, and Utsunomiya Lines, the venue boasts unparalleled direct access from the train terminal.

Open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (until 8:00 p.m. on the final day only)—enjoy the full experience with extended hours!

A total of 39 booths across three categories—food, drinks, and festival games—are lined up at the venue, offering a variety of ways to enjoy the event tailored to visitors’ preferences. The food stall market is the highlight of an autumn night—a place to “nibble, sip, and dance.”

4. Expanded “Digital Payment” Options Beyond Cash

Some vendors accept cashless payments such as credit cards, IC cards, and PayPay, supporting the diverse needs of our visitors.

5. A Lineup of Star-Studded Special Guests.

Confirmed performers include Yoko Ogino on Friday the 9th, Dokotsu Ten on Saturday the 10th, TAKE (FLOW) and MOTSU on Sunday the 11th, and DJ KOO (TRF) on the final day, Monday the 12th (a national holiday).

6. Pets are welcome, and with festival stalls and soft drinks available, families can enjoy the event with peace of mind.

Pets are allowed at the venue. In line with advance announcements, the organizers are using the official website and social media to remind attendees to be cautious of injuries during times of high crowding. The operational system is designed to clearly communicate rain contingency plans in advance (the event will proceed in rain; it will be canceled in severe weather).

7. Operational Expertise of the Standing Bar Festival Executive Committee

The Standing Bar Festival Executive Committee, which is assisting with operations, is responsible for venue operations, vendor traffic flow, and safety and hygiene management. This is based on a proven track record of organizing over 10 food and beverage festivals annually in various locations—including Ueno Onshi Park (the main venue for the “Shitamachi Highball Festival” and “Oden & Local Sake Festival”),and has a proven track record of organizing more than 10 food and beverage festivals annually in various locations, including Ebina, Shin-Koiwa, and Kugenuma. Based on this experience, the committee is responsible for venue operations, vendor traffic flow, and health and safety management.
