Since its launch in Japan in 2025, the series has gained popularity for its novel concept of “making authentic bubble tea drinks using only a microwave,” with cumulative sales exceeding approximately 80,000 units. Furthermore, the product is now available at approximately 600 stores nationwide, primarily at variety stores and supermarkets.
The new Melon flavor features a refreshing, summery aroma and a gentle sweetness. We are introducing a new option for “at-home bubble tea” that combines the convenience of preparation using only a microwave with the authentic taste unique to Taiwan.

■Background of the Launch
Sparked by the tapioca boom around 2018, tapioca drinks have become widely popular in Japan.
Far from being a passing fad, bubble tea continues to enjoy enduring popularity, as evidenced by the ongoing opening of new specialty bubble tea shops.
However, access to specialty tapioca shops varies by region, and the availability of authentic tapioca drinks depends on where you live. In recent years, the trend of “home cafés”—enjoying a café-like atmosphere at home—has taken root, leading to growing interest in products that allow consumers to easily enjoy authentic beverages.
With “Puri Tapioca Drinks,” all it takes is about 2 minutes in the microwave—a total of about 3 minutes—to enjoy an authentic tapioca drink with a chewy texture.
We are marketing this product in Japan with the hope that people can enjoy authentic tapioca drinks at home or in the office—regardless of where they live or what time of day it is—without having to visit a specialty shop.

Its convenience—simply heating it in the microwave for about 2 minutes to enjoy an authentic, chewy tapioca drink—has earned it widespread support, and it is enjoyed in a variety of settings, from coffee breaks at home to refreshing breaks at the office.
Additionally, since it allows you to serve authentic tapioca drinks without the need for specialized equipment like sealing machines, it’s easy to incorporate into drink menus for school festivals, local events, and pop-up shops.
■ New “Melon” Flavor—a First for the Series
The newly released Melon flavor features a refreshing aroma and gentle sweetness that’s perfect for summer.
Melon is a flavor that remains popular every year in both desserts and beverages.
Combined with the chewy texture of tapioca, we’ve created a drink that feels like a dessert.
Since summer is the season when we crave cold drinks, you can easily enjoy authentic tapioca drinks right at home.
To make the “Honeydew” flavor—beloved in Taiwan—more familiar to Japanese customers, we’ve labeled this product “Melon” on the packaging and in the product name. Although the name is different, we’re bringing the gentle, familiar taste of melon from Taiwan directly to everyone in Japan.

■ What is “Puri Tapioca Drink (Boba Tea)”?
Based on the concept of “Just 3 minutes in the microwave! Enjoy boba at home!”, this product lets you easily make delicious, restaurant-quality boba drinks using your home microwave. It features surprisingly chewy tapioca with a simple preparation process, along with a wide variety of flavors to suit your preferences.

No special skills or tools are required—you can easily make a delicious tapioca drink at home in just 3 minutes, whenever the mood strikes. Since it doesn’t involve using a stovetop, even children can make it* (*Children 6 years old and under should not consume this product.Also, when children are preparing the drink, please have a parent or guardian supervise them to ensure safety and prevent burns.)
(1) Add 100 ml of water and the tapioca.
Remove the contents from the container, pour in 100 ml of water, add the tapioca, and gently stir to separate the pearls.
(2) Heat in the microwave without a lid.
Heat for 2 minutes and 20 seconds at 500W, or about 2 minutes at 600W.
(3) Add the powder, stir, add ice, and it’s ready!
Remove from the microwave, add the included powder, and stir well until it’s completely dissolved.
Add plenty of ice, insert a straw, and it’s ready to enjoy!
