J Co., Ltd. (Meguro-ku, Tokyo /Representative Director: Junko Ishii) will launch “Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab,” a new hands-on entrepreneurship support hub designed to help women in their 40s and older start small businesses in the beauty and wellness sectors and turn them into a source of income, at the Holbar beauty salon near Gakugei-daigaku Station in Tokyo starting in September 2026.
This lab is a hands-on entrepreneurship support model—a rarity in the beauty industry—that integrates “learning,” “testing,” “delivering services to clients,” and “tracking sales” into a single, cohesive process. It is neither a school that merely teaches knowledge and skills nor a rental salon that simply provides space.
We have created an environment where even those new to the beauty industry can take their first small steps with confidence—without needing to own a store or beauty equipment.
It is a new “hands-on lab” in the beauty industry designed for women who want to make beauty their career—allowing them to create their own service menu, provide those services to actual clients, and start working on a small scale as therapists while tracking their revenue and expenses.
Even without a storefront.
Even if you don’t own beauty equipment.
Even if you’re not fully prepared.
First, in a safe environment, you can start not just by “learning,” but
but also “trying it out for real.”
This initiative supports new ways of working for women in their 40s and beyond—not through theory, but through hands-on practice.

■Background — For Women Who Feel, “I Studied, But It Didn’t Lead to a Job”
In recent years, there has been a growing demand among women in their 40s and older to create their own unique work styles while leveraging their past experiences and sensibilities. In the beauty and wellness sectors in particular, the strengths lie in the ability to empathize with concerns that only women of a certain age can truly understand, as well as the trust built through their life experiences.
On the other hand, when trying to actually start a career in beauty, many women run into the following obstacles:
・They are new to the beauty industry and don’t know where to start learning
・Even after learning techniques at a school, they don’t know how to turn that into a career
・Even if they rent a salon space, they end up having to handle customer acquisition, client service, pricing, and sales management all on their own
・Not knowing how to get started without owning a salon or beauty equipment
・They’re not good at promoting their services on social media or LINE, recruiting trial clients, or generating word-of-mouth reviews
・I don’t understand how to manage sales and expenses, so I can’t envision making this a sustainable career
For women in their 40s and older in particular, starting a career in beauty with no prior experience brings significant anxiety—not only regarding technical skills, but also in terms of age, funding, client acquisition, location, and self-confidence.
“Is it okay to start now?” “Will I be able to provide services to clients even without experience?” “Can I really make a living out of this without a salon or beauty equipment?” To help women with these concerns take that first step with confidence, this lab offers a step-by-step program combining learning and hands-on practice.
In other words, there is a significant gap between “learning” and “earning an income through work.” The “Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab” was created to bridge this gap.
■What Is the Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab?
~Not a place to “learn” beauty, but a place to “turn beauty into a career.”~
A key feature of this lab is that it allows you to experience technical skills, location, hands-on practice, financial management, and business planning not as separate elements, but as a single, integrated process.
To make a career in beauty, technical skills alone are not enough. Who is your target audience? What services will you offer? At what price? How will you market your services? How will you retain customers? How will you track revenue and expenses? You’ll acquire these “skills for sustaining a business” in a real-world environment.
Learn. Practice. Apply. Track revenue. Improve. Grow it into your own business. This is how the Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab approaches supporting women entrepreneurs.
■ Key Features
1. No experience required. Experience the “process of making beauty your career” in just 3 months
In this three-month hands-on program, even those new to the beauty industry can learn step-by-step through basic training in Light Thread Lifting, neuro-aesthetics, the fundamentals of beauty, customer service, client acquisition, and business management, as well as the basics of revenue and expense management.
In the first month, you’ll identify your strengths and experiences to design your service menu, pricing, and target audience. In the second month, you’ll learn the basics of Light Thread Lift and Neuro-Aesthetics, as well as counseling techniques and how to recommend home care routines. In the third month, you’ll recruit trial clients, provide treatments to actual clients, secure follow-up appointments, and track your revenue.
Even if you’re new to the beauty industry, the program is designed so you won’t have to start by serving clients right away. Instead, you’ll follow a process of learning, practicing, applying what you’ve learned, and reflecting—allowing you to take your first steps as a therapist with confidence. The goal is to work with 3 to 5 trial clients or actual customers within three months. You won’t just stop at “knowing” the techniques; you’ll gain hands-on experience by actually delivering treatments.
2. You can get started on a small scale without owning a salon or beauty equipment
When starting a career in beauty, renting a salon space or purchasing beauty equipment can often be major hurdles.
At this lab, you can start small and gain hands-on experience without needing your own salon or beauty equipment by utilizing the facilities at Holbar, a beauty salon located near Gakugei-daigaku Station.
Rather than going into business on your own right away, you can perform actual treatments, observe client reactions, track your revenue, and gradually develop a work style that suits you.
A key feature of this lab is that you can experience the process of “making beauty your career” at your own pace, utilizing the necessary resources exactly when you need them.
3. Learn “Neuro-Beauty,” Essential for Women in Their 40s and Beyond
In this lab, you’ll learn not just beauty that focuses on the skin’s surface, but also the concept of “neuro-beauty,” which is essential for women in their 40s and older.
Tired-looking skin, dullness, sagging, stiffness, sleep, the autonomic nervous system, stress, circulation, and mitochondria. You’ll develop the ability to address the skin concerns of women as they age—not just through superficial beauty treatments, but from a holistic perspective that balances the entire body—and to present these solutions to clients in an easy-to-understand way.
Through this, we aim to train therapists who do more than simply provide treatments—they will be able to empathize with and support women in their 40s and beyond as they navigate their physical discomforts and concerns.

Customer Service Approach
4. Developing the Ability to Analyze Revenue and Expenses
To succeed in the beauty industry, you need more than just intuition—you must be able to analyze numbers.
In this lab, you’ll learn the basics of revenue, expenses, and profit, and develop the habit of regularly reviewing your own performance through numbers.
By learning to look not only at “how much was sold,” but also at “what expenses were incurred,” “how much profit remained,” and “what needs to be improved next,” you’ll develop your work as a therapist into a professional career.
The program is designed so that even those who aren’t comfortable with numbers or business management can start by simply reviewing their own sales and expenses.
5. A Practical Environment for Therapists: You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
The beauty industry involves more than just technical skills—there’s a lot to consider, such as client acquisition, customer service, pricing, financial management, and building relationships with clients.
You struggle with client acquisition on your own. You set prices on your own. You worry about handling clients on your own. You analyze the numbers on your own. We’ll create an environment that reduces this isolation and allows you to grow through consultation with others.
The Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab is not just a course—it’s a place where you can put what you’ve learned into practice alongside like-minded peers.
■Comment from the CEO
Junko Ishii, Representative Director of J Co., Ltd. / Master J
I believe your 40s are the time when your past experiences and intuition shine the brightest.
However, in reality, I’ve seen many women who wonder, “Is it too late to start a career in beauty now?” “Can I really provide services to clients with no experience?” “I’m afraid to open my own salon.” “How can I get started without beauty equipment?” or “I’ve studied, but I can’t seem to turn it into a business.”
Even if you study at a school, it often ends there. Even if you rent a space, it’s just a space. I feel there has been a lack of support for the next step: “actually delivering services to clients and turning that into income.”
The Second Flight B-Biz Practical Lab isn’t a place for people who are already perfectly prepared. Even if you’re new to the beauty industry. Even if you’re in your 40s. Even if you don’t have a salon or beauty equipment. For those who want to start small. For those who want to build a career from scratch again. For therapists who want to heal and beautify others while also getting their own lives and finances in order.
This is a place where women like that can learn, put what they’ve learned into practice, track their sales, and grow their own business—all without having to shoulder everything alone.
Second Flight embodies the spirit of “taking flight again as your true self.” We hope this Practical Lab will serve as a new beginning for women in their 40s and beyond.
