Experiments and Card Games with a Former Japanese National Soccer Team Player! "The Doping Monster's Medicine Class" for Elementary School Students Will Be Held for Free on August 18 in Shimada City for the First 30 Participants

Midoriya Pharmacy LLC will host “Learning Through Card Games: The Doping Yokai Medicine Class” for elementary school students on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Plaza Ooruri (Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture).

A former Japanese national soccer team player will participate as a guest on the day of the event. He will conduct medicine experiments with the children and join them around the same table to play the card game “Doping Guardian.”

This hands-on medicine class allows children to interact directly with the former national team player and learn about the proper use of medicine and how to protect their own health and that of their friends while enjoying experiments and games together.

■ “Doping Guardian”

“Doping Guardian” is a card game developed by sports pharmacists specializing in anti-doping education as a tool for anti-doping education.It was developed to help children understand the risks of doping and acquire the knowledge needed to maintain the integrity of sports. In this session, it will be used as an interactive teaching tool and is designed so that children can learn while having fun.

■ Fun Learning Through Experiments, Characters, and Card Games

In this event, through medicine experiments and a presentation featuring the “Doping Yokai” characters, we will convey the importance of following prescribed dosages and usage instructions for medications, as well as the importance of consulting family members or pharmacists when in doubt.

In the card game “Doping Guardian,” participants encounter various scenarios related to medicine and health and consider how to respond in each situation.

This program goes beyond simply listening to lectures; through experiments and games, children think for themselves and learn the proper way to handle medications while having fun.

■ Applying Anti-Doping Insights to Children’s Medication Education

Midoriya Pharmacy LLC is engaged in anti-doping initiatives, including providing anti-doping support, education, and awareness-raising for athletes.

In this event, we will apply the insights gained from these efforts to educate children on the proper use of medications.

We will convey the importance of following medication instructions, consulting experts when in doubt, and valuing one’s own health and that of others—linking these concepts to the values of sports, such as fair play and respect for oneself and teammates.

This initiative is being carried out as part of research activities on “Education on the Proper Use of Medications Based on the Values of Sports.” We are collaborating with the Departments of Clinical Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacodynamics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Shizuoka Prefectural University.

We are currently accepting applications from elementary school students on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to the first 30 participants. This is an excellent opportunity to create summer vacation memories or serve as inspiration for an independent research project.

We also welcome visits from sports organizations, coaches, and educators interested in health education for children through sports or the regional expansion of anti-doping education.
