Creating "Japanese-Style Scent" Aromatherapy Candles in Antique Soba Choko Perfume-Making Workshop to Be Held at Tokyo Midtown on September 17

(Headquarters: Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture; President and CEO: Masahiko Matsuo) announced that on Thursday, September 17, 2026,at “THE COVER NIPPON,” a lifestyle shop located on the 3rd floor of Tokyo Midtown Galleria, a fragrance-blending workshop that combines scents evoking Japan’s nature and culture with antique soba choko (soba bowls).

This hands-on workshop is an experiential event where participants can freely blend over 20 types of fragrances inspired by Japan’s four seasons and culture to create their very own original scented candle.We have selected one-of-a-kind, historic “antique soba choko” bowls for use in the workshop. We invite you to enjoy a soothing, hands-on crafting experience that blends traditional Japanese beauty with fragrance.

1. “Over 20 Japanese Scents” Reflecting Japan’s Primordial Landscapes

We provide fragrances that evoke scenes unique to Japan, such as matcha, yuzu, sake, cherry blossoms, hinoki cypress, osmanthus, moss, agarwood, and plum blossoms. You’ll have the opportunity to experience each scent individually and use your own intuition to craft the interplay and evolution of these scents.

2. “Antique Soba Choko” Selection: Enjoy a Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounter

You may select one piece of your choice from our collection of antique soba choko. As you cherish your favorite vessel for years to come, you’ll create a sustainable and spiritually enriching moment enveloped in light and fragrance.

3. Patented “Fresh Candle Pack” and Recipe Storage System

We’ll present your finished fragrance in a patented “Fresh Candle Pack.” Simply warm the pack in a water bath at home and pour it into your chosen vessel to enjoy a fresh, just-made scent anytime. Additionally, your fragrance recipe will be carefully preserved, allowing you to reorder the exact same scent whenever you wish.

On the day of the event, we will also be exhibiting and selling “Driftwood Candles,” each handcrafted to highlight the natural beauty of the wood.
