H.I.G. Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Masanobu Okusako; DHC’s sole distributor of hotel amenities) has revamped DHC’s flagship skincare line, the “Olive Well Series,” and will relaunch the products for the hotel amenities market on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

For this relaunch, the company has focused on the “olive”—a symbol of DHC—and has newly incorporated “Olive Fermented Extract*1” into select products. This ingredient was developed by combining upcycled materials derived from the fruit left over after olive oil extraction with fermentation technology.By combining the company’s long-cultivated expertise in olives with new technology, the series has been reborn to support healthy skin and a positive daily life through skincare.

We plan to make further announcements in the future regarding the expansion of related products, the introduction of dedicated display fixtures and product sets, and new initiatives that contribute to social good.

In this renewal, while maintaining the gentleness toward the skin that the “Olive Well Series” has always valued, we’ve introduced a new “Olive Fermented Extract*1” to select products, incorporating new possibilities derived from olives. By combining DHC’s unique expertise in olives with the new technology of fermentation, we’ve evolved the series.

■Focusing on upcycled olive-derived ingredients and fusing them with fermentation technology

Since the launch of “DHC Olive Virgin Oil” in 1980, DHC has utilized olives as a signature ingredient in a wide range of cosmetics.

In developing this “Olive Fermented Extract*1,” we focused on “olive pomace,” an upcycled ingredient derived from the fruit that remains after olive oil is extracted.

We turned to “fermentation” as a way to unlock the further potential of olive fruit. With the cooperation of “Akita Konno Shoten”—a koji manufacturer renowned for possessing some of Japan’s leading fermentation technology—we undertook fermentation using our original yeast strain, resulting in the creation of DHC’s proprietary ingredient, “Olive Fermented Extract*1.”

We make full use of the benefits of olives to create new value. This new ingredient combines our expertise in olives, cultivated over many years, with fermentation technology and the concept of upcycling.
