■ “The Veranda at Kobe” Sunset & Nighttime Hours

“The Veranda at Kobe,” the scenic café terrace at the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens—which reopened after renovation in April 2026—will hold its first-ever Sunset & Night Hours starting this summer.

The cityscape of the Hanshin area bathed in the setting sun, the sky tinged with red, and the dynamic scenery woven by the sea and mountains offer a prime vantage point for a limited time from dusk into the night.

As the heat gradually subsides in the evening, you can enjoy a truly sublime experience with a glass of champagne or beer in hand.

The ancient castle (an observation rest house modeled after Germany’s Wartburg Castle), the castle gate, and the surrounding trees, all situated at an elevation of 400 meters, are illuminated.

Based on the concept of the “Forest Cathedral,” the event creates a mystical cathedral atmosphere, enveloped in light that shifts in sync with original classical, solemn, and dynamic music.

Along with Kobe’s night view, you can enjoy a fantastical space in the forest woven from light and sound.

■“Healing Forest There, the lamps are lit “Fairy Tale Forest”

An indoor event where you can experience a moment of “cool relief” alongside “healing.” This special summer event has been well-received by many visitors as a relaxing space created through light, sound, aromatic scents, and plants such as trees.

Trees have been installed to create a space that feels just like being in an actual forest. Along with fantastical Moroccan lamps, this “healing space” is crafted with the sounds of nature—such as “birdsong,” “the lapping of water,” and “the rustling of the wind”—that seem to drift in from nowhere.

The darkened hall is transformed using “light,” “sound,” “aroma,” and “plants,” and the experience consists of four scenes (each lasting 5 minutes).
