"KabePita," the AI Wallpaper Recognition App, Surpasses 40,000 Members! Win Amazon Gift Cards Totaling 40,000 Yen User Survey Campaign Underway

Komatsu Ltd. (Headquarters: Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture;Representative Director: Satoshi Komatsu) is pleased to announce that the number of members for “KabePita,” a wallpaper AI recognition app developed through an industry-academia collaboration with the Intelligent Mechanisms Laboratory (Professor: Masahiro Okuda) in the Department of Intelligent Information Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Doshisha University, surpassed 40,000 in June 2026.

To express our gratitude to everyone who uses the app on a daily basis, we are conducting a “KabePita” user survey campaign. Eighty participants selected by lottery from among those who complete the survey will receive an Amazon gift card (worth 500 yen).

“KabePita” is a free app designed to help you when you’re unsure of the wallpaper manufacturer or product number—whether you’re moving out of a rental property, redecorating as a DIY project, or repairing marks left by children or scratches caused by pets.

It features approximately 600 types of mass-produced wallpaper from six major Japanese manufacturers (Sangetsu, Shincol, Toli, Tokiwa, Lirikara, and Lunon).Simply take a photo of the wallpaper with your smartphone, and AI image analysis will display the top five similar product numbers along with the manufacturer name, product number, and catalog where they appear.
