Since purchasing 10 hectares of land in Furano in 1904, Fujii Farm has carried on the spirit of “Be a Pioneer” for 120 years, blazing a trail for the future of dairy farming and the local community. The “Furano Future Pioneering Village Initiative,” launched in 2021, is a natural extension of that history.
The Furano Future Pioneering Village (hereinafter referred to as the “Pioneering Village”) is a “co-creation dairy farming platform” where businesses, universities, government, and the local community work together to solve challenges in five areas: dairy farming, the environment, crop farming, daily life, and education.
Ahead of the Pioneering Village’s opening in 2030, a wide range of initiatives—including pilot projects, research, regional collaboration, and human resource development—have been underway over the past few years.
As these efforts expand, it has become increasingly important to carefully communicate the overall vision of the initiative, its day-to-day activities, and the value of these pilot projects to the public. The launch of this official Note account is intended to establish an information infrastructure for continuously sharing updates on the Pioneering Village’s initiatives, strengthening our connection with society, and accurately conveying its value.

■ First Article Published: “Be a Pioneer—Carrying On 100 Years and Shaping the Next 100”
This article was written by Yuichiro Fujii, Representative Director of Fujii Farm. It begins with the first-generation founder, Kiichiro, who moved from Awaji Island to Furano and pioneered the untamed land; continues with the second-generation founder, Tokuro, who spearheaded the challenges of rice-paddy dairy farming and the dairy cooperative;third-generation Takio, who cultivated the land through technological innovation without fear of failure, and fourth-generation Yuichi, who boldly shifted the focus to dairy farming during the golden age of rice paddies and laid the foundation for modern dairy farming—carefully unraveling the Fujii family’s legacy of pioneering spanning over 100 years.
Furthermore, the current representative and fifth-generation head, Yuichiro Fujii, speaks of his resolve to prove a future that the government cannot envision, centered on the principle of “self-reliance.” Against the backdrop of the sense of crisis he felt on the front lines of agricultural policy and his awareness of structural imbalances—such as the expansion of exports and the declining number of farmers—he details the trajectory of their challenges, which include farm HACCP, independent distribution,A2 milk, sand beds, the Second Ranch (Rokugo Farm), and the Furano Future Pioneering Village.
Pioneering is not merely about clearing land; it is the endeavor of building one’s ideal place with one’s own hands and entrusting it to the next generation—that spirit connects the journey of generations past with the challenges of the present in a single, unbroken line.
With its substantial, compelling content that brings the history and philosophy of Fujii Ranch to life in three dimensions, this article serves as a flagship piece that symbolizes the worldview of the official Note channel.
