Asentec Announces Business Partnership and Distribution Agreement with Piolink
アセンテック株式会社
Asentec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Matsuura) has entered into a business alliance and distribution agreement with Pionlink Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Seoul, South Korea; President and CEO: Cho Young-chul;listed on the KOSDAQ market; hereinafter “PioLink”) to establish and promote a long-term collaborative relationship between the two companies.
■Background and Objectives of the Business Alliance
Since its establishment in 2000, Paiolink has been developing and providing proprietary network security solutions. In recent years, it has specialized in developing optimization solutions for cloud data centers.
In particular, Piolink’s patented technology* is distinguished by its ability to detect ransomware using an unprecedented method and prevent the spread of infection.
Given the frequent occurrence of ransomware attacks in Japan, we believe the company’s technology represents an extremely advanced and effective means of defense against these threats.
We, too, intend to widely roll out Piolink’s products, which incorporate this innovative technology, in the domestic market.
Meanwhile, among our company’s virtual desktop solutions—a key area of strength—"Remote PC Array" is a product that enables secure remote access by isolating endpoints from the system. Furthermore, since it does not require hypervisors such as VMware, system deployment can be achieved at low cost and in a short timeframe. Piolink will be responsible for sales of this product in the South Korean market.
The purpose of this strategic business alliance is to combine the respective strengths of both companies to support enhanced security for local governments and mid-sized enterprises as they advance their digital transformation (DX) initiatives, and to provide a wide range of products and services.
■Details of the Business Partnership
1. Expansion into the Domestic Market by Asentec
Asentech will provide domestic sales and services for Piolink’s network security product, TiFRONT.
Furthermore, Piolink’s patented ransomware countermeasure products will be integrated with Asentec’s security products and rolled out to the domestic market through Asentec’s sales network.
2. Piolink’s Expansion into the South Korean Market
Aiming to expand market share in South Korea with a remote access solution that includes “Remote PC Array”—developed based on Asentech’s expertise in VDI accumulated over many years—and “Resalio Connect,” a cloud service dedicated to remote access.
3. Development of New Products Through Technical Collaboration Between the Two Companies
We will collaborate on the development of new products by integrating Ascentech’s comprehensive virtual desktop technology with Piolink’s technology, which focuses on network security.
Leveraging products and services that capitalize on both companies’ strengths, we will provide cloud services and security solutions to the South Korean and domestic markets.

■Comment from Mr. Cho Young-chul, President and CEO of Paiolink
As cyber threats—including ransomware—continue to become more sophisticated and prevalent, we expect that the technical collaboration between our two companies will contribute to enhancing our customers’ security levels and strengthening their business continuity.
Furthermore, we will continue to work toward creating new growth opportunities in both the Japanese and South Korean markets through the promotion of joint ventures and the development of new products.
■Comment by Hiroshi Esaki, Professor, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo
Cyberattacks are rapidly becoming more sophisticated, diverse, and large-scale, driven by the digitization of all social and industrial infrastructure—including critical infrastructure—and the rapid advancement of AI. AI is accelerating the de-siloing of all social and industrial systems, making the myth that closed systems are inherently secure a thing of the past.We must now recognize that “closed systems” have become the most dangerous systems of all.
In 2026, as we enter the second quarter of the 21st century, we have reached a pivotal year to upgrade all systems based on “Security by Design” (addressing the “AS IS” state) and to rebuild systems through digital transformation (addressing the “TO BE” state).
