A New Model for Municipal Facilities Kotobuki Seating to Open “Pioneer Hall” on July 1, Where Visitors Can Experience Flexible Space Utilization

“Pioneer Hall” is a 42-seat (maximum capacity of 48 people) multifunctional hall designed to replicate the multipurpose halls found in municipal complexes and community centers, allowing users to test actual products and stage setups.It is fully equipped with retractable tiered seating (movable audience seating), a wall-mounted retractable stage, large motorized partitions, and movable tables and chairs. By combining these elements, a single space can be transformed in numerous ways to suit various purposes, such as meetings, training sessions, parties, and dance studios.

■Background of Development: “Flexible Space Utilization” Required Amid Population Decline and Budget Constraints

In recent years, against the backdrop of “compact city” policies for regional revitalization, population decline, and the resulting aging and consolidation of public facilities, an increasing number of local governments are considering the development of facilities to serve as hubs for “attractive town development.” Facilities that serve as community hubs are essential for creating towns where people want to live and for fostering a vibrant local atmosphere.How can we create facilities that combine appeal and functionality within limited budgets? The solution that is strongly sought after is “flexible space utilization,” where a single space can be repurposed for multiple uses.

However, there has been a challenge in visualizing exactly how much the impression and usability of a space can actually be transformed by movable furniture and stages. To address this, we have established a hall within our headquarters that serves as a model for future municipal facilities.By “seeing, touching, and experiencing” the actual products, you can fully appreciate the possibilities of creating the flexible spaces required for the future.

Pioneer Hall creates flexible spaces using four types of furniture and equipment.

(1) Roll-Back Chair Stand (Mobile Audience Seating)

The tiered seating can be compactly stored when not in use. Simply connect the remote control to the main unit and press a button—this simple operation allows anyone to set up the seating safely and quickly.

(2) Wall-Mounted Stage

The stage can be stored against the wall when not in use. Hydraulic dampers allow for easy deployment and retraction with minimal effort. It instantly transforms a flat floor space into a full-scale stage area.

The three-person tables and stackable chairs are movable, allowing for flexible layouts to suit any purpose. They are versatile enough for any setting, from seminars to group work.

(4) Large Electric Partition “SIKIRUTO”

Using a remote control, a partition curtain can be lowered from the ceiling to the center of the room. This allows a single room to be divided into two sections for simultaneous use by small groups, and is also convenient for changing the layout during events. Since it supports projector projection, it can also be used as a large screen.
