The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host “TOKYO KOUGEI PARK,” an event designed to widely promote the appeal of traditional crafts, at KITTE Marunouchi from Friday, July 24, Reiwa 8, to Tuesday, July 28, Reiwa 8.


This event will be the largest to date, bringing together a diverse array of traditional crafts from 78 participating businesses. Visitors can enjoy hands-on craft workshops suitable for everyone from children to adults during the summer vacation, as well as live demonstrations by artisans and shopping—all in one place.

In addition, to support recovery efforts following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, we will hold a “Disaster-Affected Areas Support Fair” featuring the display and sale of traditional crafts from the affected regions. We are also launching a call for entries for the “I Wish There Were Such Traditional Crafts! Design Contest” for elementary school students, which received a record 1,282 submissions last year.Submitted entries will be displayed at the event to be held in October Reiwa 8, and an awards ceremony will be held. You can purchase traditional crafts crafted with care by skilled artisans, including Edo Kimekomi dolls, Edo glass, Tokyo Western-style umbrellas, Tokyo silverware, and Tokyo hand-planted brushes.
