The Tsuji-Yamanaka Foundation (a general incorporated foundation; located in Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture;Representative Director: Toshikazu Yamanaka; hereinafter “the Foundation”) hereby reports on the donations made during fiscal year 2025, funded by stock dividends from its subsidiary, G-Place Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture; President and CEO: Hidetoshi Ayabe).

Additionally, the Foundation celebrated its fifth anniversary in fiscal year 2025. To mark this occasion, we would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the purpose for which the Foundation was established.

■ Fiscal Year 2025: Donation Results

● Japan Society for Children and Traditional Play (Specified Nonprofit Corporation)

Sponsorship of a symposium themed “Nature, Children, and Play.” The funds will be used to support activities aimed at preserving traditional children’s games and fostering emotional well-being.

● Shochiku Co., Ltd. (Minamiza)

Sponsorship of the “Kabuki Appreciation Class,” which invites elementary and junior high school students in Kyoto City to attend free of charge. Funds will be used to support educational initiatives aimed at preserving traditional culture and fostering children’s rich humanity.

● Regional and Educational Attractiveness Platform (General Incorporated Foundation)

Funds will be used to support the operation of a regional study abroad program for high school students and activities that contribute to improving the quality of education.

● World Artists for Peace Association

Support for Middle East peace initiatives. These funds will be used to support schools where Palestinian and Israeli students learn together.

■ Purpose and Mechanism of Donations Made by the “Tsuji-Yamanaka Foundation”

The Foundation holds 100% of the shares in its operating company (G-Place) and uses the dividends from this holding as a funding source to make donations toward activities that contribute to solving social issues.The Foundation’s purpose is “to return corporate profits to society,” and it was established as a mechanism to return a portion of the profits (stock dividends) earned by the operating company it owns back to society.

We believe that if business owners recognize their social responsibility, sincerely consider how they use their money, and create a positive cycle of wealth, we can help society function in a better way.

How Our Foundation Works

■Transforming a Sense of Purpose into a “Corporate Obligation”: Protecting “Workers’ Dignity” Through Shareholder Influence

In addition to our goal of “creating a virtuous cycle of money,” we have incorporated into our Articles of Incorporation* the commitment to fulfill our social responsibility to “protect the dignity of workers” by leveraging the influence held by owners (shareholders).

● The operating companies under our ownership must be organizations that create businesses beneficial to society, where all employees can realize their individual potential and, as a result, achieve both economic and spiritual fulfillment.

● The operation of these business companies must be conducted in a manner that is not exclusive, but rather one that recognizes diversity and protects the individuality and dignity of each person.

■ Decisions are based on “necessity,” not “compliance with standards.” We aim to break free from formalism and pursue genuine social contribution.

Our foundation does not establish manuals or detailed criteria when selecting recipients for grants.While establishing clear rules and systems can sometimes be necessary to sustain activities, we must remain vigilant against the risk of these becoming mere formalities. If they do, the focus shifts to whether something “meets the criteria,” and the essential question of “whether it is truly needed” is neglected.

Although our articles of incorporation list several fields as potential recipients of donations, based on the results of our activities to date, we currently focus particularly on two areas—“education” and “people facing immediate hardships in their daily lives for various reasons”—and make donations to these causes both domestically and internationally. “Education” concerns the people who will shape the future.Children have the potential to become anything they want. That is precisely why we believe adults must create the foundation for their growth.

■ From “Concentration of Wealth” to “Circulation for the Future”: A New Form of Management to Correct Excessive Capitalism

In modern capitalist society, wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, and inequality continues to widen. This structure of excessive capitalism gives rise to numerous problems, including poverty, hunger, human rights violations, the progression of climate change, and the degradation of ecosystems.To solve these problems, we must face the current reality head-on and work together as a society to create a better future. We believe that utilizing the profits a company generates toward this end is the social responsibility of business owners. Our foundation aims to demonstrate a new form of corporate management that fulfills this responsibility, and we will continue to explore and implement meaningful ways to give back profits.

■ About G-Place Co., Ltd.: Company History and Business Areas

The company began operations in 1968 as “Nippon Green Packs.” In May 2019, to mark its 50th anniversary, it changed its name to its current one. Under the motto “A Creative General Trading Company That Builds the Future with Ideas,” it provides unique products and services across a variety of fields.Since our founding, our core business has consistently been supporting waste reduction efforts by local governments nationwide. Currently, we also engage in the sale of products for safety at heights and recycled resin products; the planning and sale of original cosmetics and general merchandise made with natural ingredients; and the import and sale of overseas home appliances.
