Small-Group Practical Training and Hands-On Support with Students at the Center Tokyo College of Dental Hygiene Opens Applications for Comprehensive Selection for the 2027 Intake Lowering the Barrier to Enrollment with Reduced or Waived Admission Fees

Supporting high school students aspiring to become dental hygienists with up to 100,000 yen in tuition waivers

The Tokyo College of Dental Hygiene (located in Kita Ward, Tokyo; Principal: Chang-il Lee), part of the Kanagawa Dental University Educational Foundation, began accepting applications for its Comprehensive Selection Process (formerly known as the AO Entrance Examination) for students entering in the 2027 academic year on June 1, 2026.

To expand educational opportunities for high school students aspiring to become dental hygienists, the school offers an admission fee reduction program for students admitted through the Comprehensive Selection System and Designated School Recommendation. Applicants admitted through the Comprehensive Selection System receive a 50,000 yen reduction in the admission fee, while those admitted through the Designated School Recommendation receive a 100,000 yen reduction, aiming to alleviate the financial burden of entering the program.

Comprehensive Selection Application Period Begins

Against the backdrop of an aging population and growing interest in preventive dentistry, the social demand for dental hygienists is increasing year by year.

At the same time, due to rising prices and increased household expenses, it is not uncommon for high school students aiming for medical-related qualifications to feel anxious about the cost of higher education.

In light of these circumstances, Tokyo College of Dental Hygiene is expanding its tuition support programs to ensure that motivated high school students do not have to give up on further education due to financial reasons.

Principal Lee Chang-il assumed office as the new principal in the 2026 academic year, and our school upholds the philosophy of “Students as the Protagonists.”

In the classroom, we prioritize a teaching system that ensures individual attention for each student. For hands-on training where students treat each other’s mouths, we employ a small-group format with one instructor for every three dental units.

Furthermore, we are developing an educational environment that supports students every step of the way—from passing the national exam to securing employment—including the “Terakoya” program, where the principal and vice principal provide direct academic support.
