Coppice Kichijoji "Kichijoji Midsummer" to be held on June 20 and 21 Two days to experience the traditional culture of the Nordic Midsummer Festival

Coppice Kichijoji (located in Musashino-shi, Tokyo) will hold "Kichijoji Mid-Summer," a two-day event where visitors can experience Scandinavian culture in Kichijoji from June 20 (Sat) to 21 (Sun), 2026, at GREENING Plaza on the 3rd floor of Building A.

This event will be held in cooperation with Dig Bowl Kichijoji (Dig Co., Ltd.), a bowling alley in Kichijoji, and will be a new event in Kichijoji in June. The theme of the event is "Scandinavian" because Scandinavian culture, which values "rich everyday life," is highly compatible with the nature-loving and humane lifestyle of Kichijoji.

At the GREENING Plaza on the 3rd floor of Coppice Kichijoji A, visitors can enjoy dancing to traditional music around a maypole, an essential part of the Midsummer celebration to celebrate the blessings of the sun and enjoy the arrival of summer. The event also includes a marché with fashionable Scandinavian goods and delicious Scandinavian cuisine, allowing visitors to enjoy Scandinavian culture while touring the streets of Kichijoji and discovering new attractions of the area.

Nyckelharpa Performers: Ms. Akane Minemura / Ms. Mikako Mizuno

Ms. Akane Minemura is a player of the Nyckelharpa, a traditional Scandinavian instrument. She has performed at many large Scandinavian events such as Metza. Currently, she is teaching Nyckelharpa at a Nyckelharpa school and making efforts to popularize Scandinavian music in Japan.

Singing and Dance Instruction: Mr. IKUMI

Ikumi is a vocalist who graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae. Having lived in Sweden for 13 years, she is deeply familiar with the local culture and music. Her overwhelming singing ability and warm dance lectures that bring smiles to everyone's faces will enliven the audience.
