A Hidden Gem of a Wine Bar in Roppongi

“Climat · A Vigneronne’s Bar”

following its renovation in May 2026, will launch a new project targeting winemakers from Japan and abroad as its next step.

In recent years, as opportunities for overseas winemakers to visit Japan have increased, there has been a growing demand in Tokyo for events where winemakers themselves can present their wines and share their stories firsthand.

This project further expands Climat’s concept of “a space where winemakers tell their stories firsthand,” providing vignerons (winemakers) from around the world with a “stage” in the heart of Tokyo’s Roppongi to showcase their wines and philosophies.

Furthermore, this initiative will be rolled out as a new format in which the winemakers themselves will stand behind the bar.

■ New Project Overview: “Climat · A Vigneron’s Bar”

Climat, which has previously operated as “Vigneronne’s Bar” featuring female winemakers, will open its doors to all winemakers—regardless of gender or nationality—through this project.

Participating winemakers can use our venue for a single day during their visit to Japan to host a special event where they take center stage.

More than just a pop-up,

I myself studied abroad near Napa, California, during high school, where I was exposed to the local wine culture and the philosophies of the winemakers. Based on that experience, I strongly empathize with the backgrounds and values of overseas producers, and I cherish that understanding in this project as well.

■ About Winery Passion

A winery based in Ashigakubo, Yokose Town, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture.

Serving as the base of operations for winemaker Misa Shimada, who leads this project, the winery produces wines that bring out the unique character of the land to the fullest.

A hidden gem of a wine bar nestled in Roppongi. Run by female winemaker Misa Shimada, it was renovated in its 25th year of operation as a “wine bar where the winemaker stands behind the counter.”
