Daiichi Brewery Co. (Location: Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture; President: Yoshinori Shimada) will open "Hiya Garden" on its premises for 14 days only, every Friday and Saturday from June 12 (Friday) to July 25 (Saturday), 2026. This event allows visitors to spend a relaxing time while enjoying cold sake and special boxed lunches made with local ingredients in an elegant environment that evokes the history of the company's more than 350 years in business. For the first time this year, a free bus service will be provided to Sano Station after the event on Saturdays, when many participants come from far away. In addition, a tie-up with a local hotel offers a plan with a discount on accommodation fees (separate reservation required).

The event is a plan to take advantage of the elegant environment of the sake brewery in the summer as well, and to enjoy sake in a relaxed atmosphere at the company's premises, which include the sake brewery main building, a 160-year-old tangible cultural property registered by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the rice cellar. Many visitors come from nearby Sano City, but in recent years the number of visitors from the Tokyo metropolitan area has been increasing.

This year is the 22nd year since the program started in 2005, and we expect approximately 1,000 people (72 people x 14 days) to participate. During the three years of the Corona Disaster, the event was held with take-out and reduced content, but since 2023 it has been conducted almost entirely under the pre-Corona Disaster structure.

At the "Hiya Garden," visitors can enjoy unlimited drinking of several types of sake, including limited-edition sake not for sale, special limited-edition sake, special boxed lunches, and tofu made from local specialty water. Reservations for Saturdays in July tend to fill up quickly. Please be sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible so that you can enjoy the event at your leisure.

Yoshinori Shimada, President and Representative Director, said, "Last year, the whole country was troubled by the availability and rising cost of raw material rice, but fortunately, Tochigi Prefecture grew as much sake rice as the breweries wanted, and we were able to brew sake during the winter season with a stable supply of raw material rice. We hope that visitors will not only enjoy this season's sake, but also spend a moment of summer in the relaxed atmosphere of the sake brewery.
