Next Democracy, an election support social business, is launched.

Next Democracy" [Representative: Katsumasa Ebi / Takuya Nuda, Operating Company: Chiikimori Inc. (CEO: Takuya Nuda)], an election support social business launched by two former congressmen for candidates who challenge with their policies, was officially launched on May 8, 2026.

With a mission to increase the number of politicians who are elected based on their policies and not on "ground, signs, and bags," the company will provide a new service that allows users to receive electoral support online from anywhere in Japan, at any time and from any place.

Background and Challenges

The number of uncontested elections in local elections in Japan has been increasing, and the percentage of uncontested elections for prefectural assembly elections reached 25.9% in the 2023 unified local elections. The assumption that "politicians are for special people" and anxiety about the costs involved in elections are preventing people with a desire to participate in politics.

On the other hand, most conventional election planners provide support for "how to win," and there was no system in place to provide consistent support from policy planning onward.

Our thoughts on Next Democracy

The ideal of democracy is not to have a political system that excludes diverse opinions. We believe that the ideal of democratic politics is to create a large number of politicians who can speak about their thoughts and policies, and to create the best possible answers through thorough discussions.

We need more politicians and political parties with a variety of opinions. We need more and more politicians who have strong opinions and who can stand up to the big parties and politicians with good arguments.

Co-Chair Profiles

Katsumasa Ebisu

Former member of the Toyama Prefectural Assembly for two terms and eight years (independent). Election planner. Representative of the Institute for Regional Development. Graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration and Information Science at Hamamatsu University. Involved in the establishment of a national political party from the preparatory stage until 2025, and has held various positions at the party center.

Takuya Nunoda

Former member of the Izumisano City Council for 5 terms and 18 years (non-partisan). Election planner with over 200 election campaigns under his belt. Graduated from the Faculty of Law at Kansai University and the Graduate School of Accounting at the same university. Served as the director of the election department of a national political party until 2025.
