The Yubari Bali Bali Melon Run Executive Committee will hold the "5th Yubari Bali Melon Run 2026" on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
The course for the 2026 event will be the same as in previous years: the "Yellow Handkerchief Course 10km," which will run through the "Kofuku no Kiiroi Handkerchief Memory Plaza" and other areas; the "Kinema Kaido (Kinema Road) and Coal Museum View Course 5km," which will run along the Kinema Kaido with its retro Showa-era movie theater signage and the Coal Museum; and the "Kinema Road and Coal Museum View Course 5km," which will be a casual event for parents and children who can participate as a pair. Kinema-Kaido Gyutto Oyako Course 3km], which can be easily participated in by parent-child pairs, has been newly added.
Another feature of the event is that there are six different start times: 10km (10:30/11:00/11:30), 5km (10:45/11:15), and 3km (11:45).

The start of the 4th (2025) race1
Because it is a fun run, there are no time awards; however, participants can participate in costume, as Yubari, the host city, is a "movie town," and awards will be given to participants who run in costumes related to "movies" or "Yubari.
The biggest highlight of the event is that after running and working up a sweat, participants will be treated to a luxurious half ball of Yubari melon in its peak season!
As in last year's event, there will also be a "Yubari Marche" with booths set up by local stores and other vendors, as well as a stage event.
Runners are required to enter the event in advance (for a fee), but the event is free of charge and open to all.
Runner entries are now being accepted (entry deadline: June 7, 2026), but the 10km 10:30 start time has been closed due to capacity being reached.
The 5km 10:45 start is also very popular and may close before the deadline.
