A record amount of money raised! Seraph Enomoto Supports Guide Dog Training at Interpet

Seraph Enomoto Co. (Location: Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Osamu Enomoto; hereinafter "the Company"), which is engaged in large-scale condominium repair work as well as pet renovation business, held a fund-raising event to support guide dog fostering at "Inter Pet Tokyo 2026" held at Tokyo Big Sight in April 2026. This was the fourth fundraising activity jointly conducted by the Ibaraki Guide Dogs for the Blind Foundation ("Ibaraki Guide Dogs for the Blind") and the East Japan Guide Dogs for the Blind Foundation ("East Japan Guide Dogs for the Blind") for three consecutive years, and thanks to your warm cooperation, a record 497,286 yen was raised this year.

<History of our support for guide dog fostering

We are developing a "pet renovation" business to create a comfortable living environment from the perspective of pets. Since March 2022, we have been supporting guide dogs that interact with people and play an active role in society as one of our SDGs initiatives. We have been holding fund-raising activities in our booth for three consecutive years since Interpets in April 2024.

＜Fund-raising activities at INTERPET TOKYO 2026

During the exhibition, we received warm support and cooperation from many people who passed by our booth and stopped to donate, noticed our fundraising activities from a short distance away, and asked questions about guide dog training. During the two days that both associations were present, we received many questions such as "How long is the training period?" and "Good luck with your work" as we interacted with the PR dogs and training dogs. The event has become an opportunity for the public to learn more about guide dog training.

Outline of the fund-raising activities

Fundraising activities with both associations

<Visiting both associations for donation payment and training

Including the amount raised at INTERPET Tokyo 2026, we donated a total of 550,000 yen to both associations, and received letters of appreciation from both associations. The purpose of this visit was to provide training to deepen employees' understanding of guide dog fostering, and we visited the Ibaraki Guide Dogs for the Blind Association's training facility, which is separate from the association's facility, where Mr. Saito, representative director, introduced guide dog users who are active in origami works and musical activities, and explained the main topics, including the consideration that guide dog users should give to others. We also had the opportunity to experience walking with a dog.

During the visit to East Japan Guide Dog Association, Mr. Taga of the Training and Awareness Group explained the advantages and disadvantages of each walking style, such as manual guidance, white cane, and guide dog, as well as the consideration that should be given when seeing a guide dog on the street. In addition to the walking experience, the tour also included a visit to a kennel and a room used by guide dog users for joint training. They also told us about the questions they received from visitors at INTERPET, which we will use in our future efforts.

Visiting both associations with donations

We have long been committed to supporting the visually impaired, and in particular, we have continued to interact with guide dog associations through donations and other means to promote the development of guide dogs for the blind. From the perspective of further promoting social contribution, we have been supporting guide dog development as part of the SDGs since 2022, and have set an annual donation of 340,000 yen by fiscal 2030 as an indicator, and will continue to support and further expand the program.

＜East Japan Guide Dogs for the Blind Foundation

The East Japan Guide Dogs for the Blind Foundation is a public interest incorporated foundation located in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, and is a rare facility among guide dog associations located adjacent to the Tochigi Prefectural School for the Blind. In addition to training guide dogs, it also organizes tours, "Guide Dog Friendship Day" and "Welcome Day," and other events where you can learn about visual impairment and guide dogs.

＜Ibaraki Guide Dogs for the Blind Foundation

A general incorporated foundation based in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Established in 2012, it is the 11th youngest guide dog training facility in Japan designated by the National Public Safety Commission. Although it is a very small facility, it raises several guide dogs a year and lends them to those who wish to use them, mainly in the Kanto region.
