EX Gravity (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Success Shirasaka) will hold the exhibition "Designing Life Without Gravity" at an event venue in Tokyo on July 21, 2026 (Tuesday).

Designing Life Without Gravity

This is a thought-experimental exhibition that explores how human culture and lifestyles can be redesigned by removing the constraints of "gravity" that we assume in our daily lives.

Background

We usually live our lives without being aware of the existence of gravity. Our daily activities, such as putting things down, standing up, and hanging clothes, are all based on the premise of gravity.

In recent years, NASA's Artemis mission and other human missions to the Moon have begun to gain momentum again. Space is no longer a special place, but is becoming a reality as a "place where people live.

In the field of space development, new technologies and ideas have been developed by envisioning the extreme environment of weightlessness.

This exhibition extends this "space perspective" from the specialized technical field to general culture and lifestyle. By daring to design a "weightless life," the exhibition will question the assumptions of life on earth.

This exhibition will feature a number of works and researches on the theme of human activities in a zero-gravity environment.

SPACE WEDDING ARCHITECTURE

Architectural and experiential design for a wedding ceremony in space

Design for a culture unbound by gravity

Thought experiments on redesigning culture, such as hairstyles, greetings, etc.

How to live with cats in space

Video and game works on the theme of coexistence with pets in a zero-gravity environment

Through these exhibits, we will think together with visitors about "what is living" and "how culture is formed.

Talk Sessions and Exchanges

Talk sessions by experts in the space industry and design field will be held on the day of the exhibition.
