Unusual collaboration across regions

Eisaku Yoshida Human Touch, a program planned and produced by Hachioji FM Corporation, will hold a public recording and special program on April 5, 2026 at FM Sanin.

The venue will be the "Sakura Stage" at Shiroyama Park in Matsue Castle, a national treasure, where the recording will be held from 2:00 p.m. in a public format.

This project is attracting attention as a highly unusual initiative in which a program produced by Tokyo Star Radio (Hachioji FM), a community FM station, will be broadcast on FM Sanin, a prefectural broadcaster in a different region.

Behind this is the exchange between the staff of the two stations that has continued for several years, with Eisaku Yoshida serving as the bridge between the two stations.

Eisaku Yoshida's influence not only as an actor but also as a cross-media presence has made this collaboration possible.

The director of Tokyo Star Radio, which is responsible for program production, is Yoshihiro Shimoda, who is also an active pianist. He has been involved in radio production in addition to his career as a musician, and his activities have crossed over into other fields of expression, including music for a reading play in which Eisaku Yoshida would later appear.

Producer MARI was one of the members involved in the launch of the station with Shimoda, and also appeared on the program. The "promised" appearance of Yoshida after his arrival and a little later than the start of the recording is well known among fans as a humorous exchange in the program.

The program will be broadcast on Tokyo Star Radio on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 11:00 p.m.

It will also be broadcast on FM Sanin on Sunday, April 12 at 19:00.

The broadcast will be edited differently on each station, so the different content will be one of the highlights of the program.

This project, which crosses regional and media barriers, will be a valuable experience not only for radio fans but also for many listeners.
