Background of the update
Since its official release in October 2025, "-Machikaku-" has been used by pharmacies, hospitals, beauty salons, restaurants, dry cleaners, and many other types of businesses. With the recent increase in inbound demand, more and more foreign tourists are visiting local pharmacies and restaurants. In addition, consideration is also required for customers who have difficulty reading text on the screen, such as the elderly and visually impaired. In response to these social needs, we have implemented this accessibility enhancement update. All new features are still available completely free of charge.
Features of the new functions
Multilingual support (automatic language switching) (customer-side function)
The customer waiting time confirmation screen is now available in English, Chinese, and Korean. The language setting of the customer's smartphone is automatically detected, and waiting time and information messages are displayed in the appropriate language. Customers do not need to select their own language at all; they can check information in a language close to their native language simply by scanning a 2D code. No setup or operation is required on the store side. For stores that are facing challenges in dealing with inbound customers, this system can improve hospitality to foreign customers at no additional cost.

A function to read out waiting time information by voice has been added. Customers who check waiting times on their smartphones can listen to the current waiting time by tapping the "read out" button on the screen. In addition, a function that automatically reads out the waiting time and messages when they change is also available on the monitor display screen installed in the waiting room (can be turned on or off from the management screen; default is off). This feature allows the elderly, the visually impaired, and those who cannot continuously look at their smartphone screens to keep track of waiting times, providing a more comfortable waiting experience for all customers. Text-to-speech is linked with multilingual support, and is also available in English, Chinese, and Korean.

Multilingual support is fully automatic, and voice reading can be intuitively configured from the administration screen, so there is no need for specialized knowledge.

Flow of use

2 Log in to the management screen and set the current number of people on the waiting list and the time required per person.
3. display the URL for the waiting time on a TV or PC monitor in the waiting room (if necessary)
4. place 2D codes in the storefront (two formats are available, one for printing and the other for monitor display)
5. (Customer) reads the 2D code and checks the waiting time and estimated time on his/her smartphone - Automatic translation is displayed on foreign-language smartphones
6. (Customer) Register a favorite and check the congestion status with a single tap next time.
