The nationwide call for applications is now open. Evangelists to bring the story of the Tibetan treasure "Yak" from your city SHOKAY "Community Coordinators" wanted nationwide!
~ From "Selling" to "Sharing. A new way to expand ethical activities through community-based exhibitions and sales that connect people through their feelings.
SHOKAY・DGBH(ダブルツリー株式会社)
SHOKAY (operated by Doubletree Co., Ltd.; Head office: Sapporo, Hokkaido; Representative: Tamiko Hayashi), a regenerative material brand focusing on yak materials, supports Tibetan nomads through knit products made from yak hair, which inhabits the Himalayan highlands. We are now accepting applications nationwide for "community coordinators (exhibition and sales representatives)" who share the philosophy of the brand and help spread the appeal of SHOKAY from their own familiar places.

SHOKAY "Community Coordinators" wanted nationwide!
Why "Community Coordinators" now?
SHOKAY values not just shopping, but the experience of learning about the place and people from whom high quality materials come from, and using them with care for a long time. The Tibetan Plateau is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level. Only 100 grams of this rare fiber is harvested per cow per year from yaks carefully raised by nomads in the harsh nature of the Tibetan Plateau. The community-based exhibition and sales event is the place where the story of how the fiber reaches Japanese customers can be told through "dialogue.
Unlike ordinary stores or online stores, we will strengthen the "exhibition and sales event" style, where each customer acts as a coordinator to deliver products through dialogue in a warm space such as a home, café, gallery, or yoga studio. This initiative aims to create a community-based sales model based on trust.
■Three roles of the coordinator

For example, an exhibition like this -- inviting friends to your living room and having them touch yak shawls along with pictures of Tibet, and discussing them over tea. A yak shawl exhibition at a yoga studio with a talk about ethical lifestyles after class. A one-week exhibition in a corner of a café for customers to pick up. Whatever the form, you can find your own unique way of communicating SHOKAY.
Comment from Tamiko Hayashi
Shokay's products have something that you can feel when you touch them. Their softness, warmth, and the lives of the Tibetan people on the other side of the material. We would be very happy if there were people all over the country who could convey this through words. You don't need any experience in sales, just a love for SHOKAY and a desire to share it with others - that's all you need. Please help us increase the number of people who encounter SHOKAY in your town.

About SHOKAY
SHOKAY is a social business founded in 2006 by two female students studying international cooperation at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, with the aim of solving poverty issues among the Tibetan people. As a pioneer of ethical knitwear, their founding story was published in the book "Sekai wo Chan Kaeru Oshigoto" (Kodansha, 2010).
Only 100g of yak hair is harvested from one cow per year, making it a rare material. It is said to retain heat better than cashmere, has excellent breathability and flexibility, and is resistant to pilling. The company produces and sells high-quality knit products and yarns while ensuring traceability. The brand contributes to the achievement of 12 of the 17 UN SDGs.
