Altromercato to Exhibit at FOODEX JAPAN 2026
Altromercato, Italy’s Leading Fair Trade Organization, to Present Sustainable Italian Food Products to the Japanese Market
Altromercato
Altromercato (Headquarters: Italy) is pleased to announce that it will
participate in FOODEX JAPAN 2026, Asia's largest food and beverage
exhibition, to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 10-13, 2026. As one
of Italy’s leading fair trade organizations, Altromercato develops and
distributes Italian food products and products made with fair trade
ingredients through a sustainable and ethical supply chain.

Altromercato at FOODEX JAPAN 2026
Operating as a social enterprise since 1998, Altromercato collaborates with more than 90 producer organizations across 35 countries. The company
sources finished products and key fair trade ingredients—including coffee,
cocoa, sugar, and tea—through transparent and responsible supply chains
built on long-term direct partnerships. This model ensures full traceability,
stable supply, and measurable social and environmental impact in local
communities.
At FOODEX JAPAN 2026, Altromercato will showcase the following key
product categories for the Japanese market:
Fair Trade Coffee (Bio Caffè 100% Arabica)
A premium organic blend of Ethiopian Arabica and selected Latin American
origins. Slow, gentle roasting enhances its smooth acidity and well-balanced
body, finishing with delicate citrus notes. Produced through a high social-
impact, low environmental-impact supply chain built on long-term trust and
fair pricing for producers.

Fair Trade Coffee (Bio Caffè 100% Arabica)
Italian Organic Pasta
Produced through a controlled and transparent Italian organic supply chain,
guided by a “field to plate” philosophy. Slow drying at low temperatures
preserves nutritional value, flavor, and texture, ensuring consistent quality
and reliable supply for international partners.

Italian Organic Pasta
Italian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Cold-pressed within hours of harvest and sourced through agricultural
cooperatives that guarantee traceability, fair working conditions, and
environmental responsibility. The oil features a balanced, fruity aromatic
profile suitable for both Japanese and Western cuisine.

Italian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Organic Tomato Passata
Part of the “Tomato Revolution” ethical supply chain in Southern Italy, which
combats labor exploitation and ensures a fully transparent, caporalato-free
production system. Made from 100% Italian tomatoes grown under the
Mediterranean sun, with no artificial additives or preservatives.

Organic Tomato Passata
Fair Trade Black Tea
Sourced from traditional tea-growing regions such as India and Sri Lanka
through direct producer partnerships. The range includes aromatic and
refined varieties, as well as decaffeinated options.

Fair Trade Black Tea
Chocolate & Confectionery Products
Produced through a transparent fair trade cocoa supply chain that
supports small producer cooperatives in Latin America and Africa.
Products include organic dark chocolate spread and cocoa-hazelnut-filled
biscuits. Many items are certified according to international fair trade
standards, including WFTO, ensuring ethical sourcing and quality
guarantees for trading partners.
