Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route connects Toyama and Nagano Prefectures, The "Snowy Valley Walk," a springtime tradition, will be held from April 15, 2026 (Wed.)!

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, one of the world's leading mountain tourism routes connecting Toyama and Nagano prefectures (operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko Co., Ltd.; head office: Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture), will hold the spring campaign "2026 Tateyama Kurobe Haltabi" from the (planned) full opening day on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. During this period, we will offer various events to fully enjoy the spring snow in Tateyama, including the main event, "Yuki-no-Otani Walk".

What is "Yuki-no-Otani Walk?

This event allows visitors to experience the powerful snow wall up close, which can be as high as 16 meters (10-year average). As a springtime tradition along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, this event attracts many tourists from Japan and abroad every year.

About "2026 Tateyama Kurobe Haltavi

In addition, the "2026 Snow Otani Height Projection Campaign" is scheduled to be held from March 1, 2026 (Sunday) on the official X website to promote the arrival of spring on the Alpine Route.

What is the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route?

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world's most famous mountain tourism routes in Tateyama, Chubu-Sangaku National Park. Visitors can easily enjoy the spectacular views of the 3,000-meter-high Tateyama Mountain Range and Kurobe Dam by taking one of six different vehicles, including cable cars, buses, and ropeways, between Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture and Ogisawa Station in Nagano Prefecture.
