Autumn Eiraku Set(1)

Autumn Eiraku Set(2)
A special autumn-only parfait presented by Eirakuya, which has a store in Shijo-Kawaramachi, Kyoto. As a special sweet treat only available this fall, we present an autumn parfait starring sweet potatoes and chestnuts. The parfait is served with "Chofu," a traditional Japanese pastry made of moist and fragrant sponge cake dough wrapped in soft Gyuhi (rice flour), for an extra touch of Japanese flavor.
The parfait is layered with rich marron cream, fragrant astringent chestnuts, Japanese chestnut ice cream, sweet potato red bean paste, hojicha jelly, vanilla ice cream, and shiratama (white rice balls), all lavishly filled with Kyoto's autumn harvest. Eirakuya's special Fuyaki rice crackers, sweet potato chips, and hazelnut hojicha grains accent the texture, creating an elegant sweetness that blends Japanese and Western flavors.
Please enjoy Eirakuya's unique "heartwarming sweetness" with a cup of tea.

Chofu Wagashi wrapped in soft Gyuhi

Chofu
Chofu" is a Japanese confectionary made of soft gyuhi wrapped in a moist sponge cake-like dough. It looks long and slender, and has an elegant appearance like a layer of thin silk. One bite of the cake is a harmony of the savory dough and the glutinous texture of the Gyuhi, and a gentle sweetness spreads out.
The name comes from "chofu," a silk cloth used to pay taxes in ancient times. The name "chofu" comes from its shape, which is reminiscent of a folded over piece of cloth. It has been popular in Kyoto since ancient times and has a long history of being used as a tea ceremony confectionery.
The simple yet profound flavor goes well with Japanese tea such as koicha (thick tea) and sencha (sencha).

■Company Profile
Eirakuya
Established in 1946. We deal in both sweet (Kyoto sweets) and savory (Kyoto tsukudani). Although seemingly a relative combination, both are food colorings that go well with "tea and rice," which are indispensable for Japanese people. Each has its own signature products, such as "Kohaku Yuzu", an agar confection that is particular about its beauty, and "Hitotokuchi Shiitake", a tsukudani made from domestically grown log shiitake mushrooms.
