The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko Co., Ltd., headquartered in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture), one of the world's leading mountain tourism routes connecting Toyama and Nagano Prefectures, will close for the year 2025 in about one month. November, with its quiet and beautiful deep autumn and new snow season, is the perfect time to relax and unwind from the year in the great outdoors. The Hotel Tateyama, the official hotel of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which will close its accommodation service section on August 31, 2026 (Monday), will hold a memorial exhibition and sell mini-frame stamps commemorating its last year as a closing project.

November, the last month of the Alpine Route season, is the perfect time to relax and unwind in the clear air and quiet atmosphere, surrounded by nature. Mikurigaike Pond, with its reflection of freshly snow-covered mountains on the surface of the lake, is exceptionally beautiful.

Hotel Tateyama, which will close its accommodation service on Monday, August 31, 2026, will hold a variety of events and activities to thank the guests for their support and enjoy the rare mountain hotel that is the pride of Japan until the very end.
About the Hotel Tateyama Closing Special Events
(1) Hotel Tateyama Memorial Exhibition "Learn about mountains and see light through architecture
Under the supervision of Shunsuke Kurakata (architectural historian and professor at Osaka Public University), a special exhibition will be held to introduce "architectural design" and "history. *Non-guests are also welcome to view the exhibition.

Exhibition period: October 21, 2025 (Tue) - August 31, 2026 (Mon)
Excluding the period when Hotel Tateyama is closed for business (December to mid-April).
(2) Hotel Tateyama Last Year Commemorative Mini Frame Postage Stamps
A limited number of mini-frame postage stamps with designs of the main peak of Tateyama, the starry sky, and a photo of Hotel Tateyama when it first opened are available. The sale will end as soon as the stamps are gone.

What is the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route?
The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world's most famous mountain tourism routes in Tateyama, Chubu-Sangaku National Park. The section between Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture and Ogisawa in Nagano Prefecture is accessible by cable car, bus, and ropeway, allowing visitors to easily enjoy the spectacular views of the 3,000-meter-high Tateyama Mountain Range and Kurobe Dam.
Operating period in 2025 (tentative): April 15 (Tuesday) - November 30 (Sunday)
*Tours will be operated on a winter schedule from November 4 (Tue.).
