Anti-Doping Education Project in Indonesia SFTC Member Support Program for FY2025 SFT Action + (Plus) Phase II

Midoriya Pharmacy LLC (Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan; Representative: Masayuki Shimizu) has been selected by the Japan Sports Agency as a recipient of the "2025 SFT Consortium Members' Project Support Program (SFT Action+)" II, part of the Agency's "Sports for Tomorrow" (SFT) international exchange and cooperation program. The program has been adopted as an initiative for ASEAN-Japan sports cooperation and contribution to the SDGs through sports in Phase II of the SFT Action+, which is part of the SFT (Sport for Tomorrow).

Implementation in FY2024

In this project, Japanese pharmacists, university faculty members, and university students will collaborate to implement the "Experiential Pharmacy Education Program Based on the Value of Sports - Anti-Doping Education Support for Indonesian Children" at elementary schools in Bali, Indonesia.

Drug abuse, underage preference, and inappropriate use of medicines are now global issues. In response to these social issues, Midoriya Pharmacy has been conducting "Medicine Classes" in Japan based on the value of sports and the philosophy of anti-doping. This project aims to apply this educational model internationally, and to foster in Indonesian children the "ability to get along well with medicines.

In the class, children learn how to deal with medicines interactively by using the card game "Doping Guardian" developed by a sports pharmacist and educational characters. In addition, through collaboration with local teachers, we will translate and apply the lesson content into Indonesian, and build an educational model that can be implemented sustainably in the local community.

Future Prospects

This project aims to create a new model for drug education and public health education in the ASEAN region by combining the knowledge of Japanese pharmaceutical education and sports education.

Through this project, Midoriya Pharmacy will promote support for pharmacy education in Japan and abroad based on the principle of "protecting children's health and justice through medicine and sports.
