TUTUMI KOMUTEN (Location: Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture / Representative Director: Eiji Tsutsumi) has opened a new one-building rental facility, "The Tenpo," in Higashi Kujo, Kyoto. This facility is a remodeled version of the Tanaka Family, a merchant-style townhouse said to have been built at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), and has been selected by Kyoto City for protection as a cultural asset. Located along Takeda Kaido, the two-story building (189m2) has been reborn as a Kyoto machiya that combines modern comforts while retaining the atmosphere of bygone days, such as the protruding lattice next to the entrance and the barber's stool. An open-air rock bath in the well-kept inner garden and a large table made of a single piece of 3,000-year-old Yakusugi cedar create an extraordinary quality time. The hotel can accommodate up to 9 people, making it ideal for groups or families. While the inn is located within easy reach of Kyoto Station, Toji Temple, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, and other famous landmarks, the tranquility of the inn allows guests from Japan and abroad to experience a stay that is uniquely Kyoto. We have prepared a plan with five kinds of breakfast dishes to enrich the morning of your stay. You can choose from the following five types of breakfasts: Takekago gozen, chirashizushi and takikomi-gohan, Kyo no gindara gozen, ill over rice and tofu gozen, and beef over rice and tofu gozen. All of them are carefully prepared by our chefs using ingredients nurtured in the Kyoto region. The richly flavored breakfast served in the tranquil setting of a traditional Kyoto townhouse is a luxurious and peaceful way to start the day. Breakfast is available for an additional 3,500 yen (tax included) for each additional guest. We will provide you with a relaxing stay suitable for an adult traveler.
