Japanese Woman to be a Jury Member of International Social Contribution Project in South Africa

We are pleased to announce that a Japanese woman, Ms. Kayoko Musel Asai, has been selected as a new international judge for Hope Journey International, an international platform for empowering women.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, the project is an international stage where representatives from the United States, Canada, Japan, African countries, and other countries participate to plan and execute projects that contribute to their local communities while demonstrating their talents. The women who embody the philosophy of "true beauty begins with purpose" gather at the annual competition in Cape Town to present their projects and develop their social contribution activities through exchanges with the judges.

From Japan, GLOBAL SYNERGY EDUCATION representative Maki Kitahara has so far won the Grand Prix in the Ms. Hope International category in 2018 and has served as an international judge from 2021 to 2024. Ms. Kayoko Musel Asai will succeed Ms. Maki Kitahara as a member of the International Jury.

About Ms. Kayoko Musel Asai

After experiencing uterine cancer in her late 30s, Ms. Asai rediscovered the power that walking beautifully has on the body and mind, and embarked on a new path as a walking and posing instructor. She has started a new path as a walking and posing instructor. Currently, she runs the "MUSEL Walking & Life Academy," which trains walknistas to walk with a radiant self, and provides instruction that focuses not only on appearance, but also on the inner self. She has also received international acclaim, winning the Grand Prix and Best In Catwalk at the Mrs. Grand Universe 2019 World Convention.

In addition to observing the judging process, Ms. Asai visited Cape Town in December 2024 to teach aspiring women ranging in age from 11 to 60 how to express themselves through standing, walking, and facial expressions, and to help women achieve beauty and leadership. On her appointment, Ms. Asai said, "I am honored to be able to bring out the seeds of beauty within each individual and encourage women to contribute to society beyond the borders of their region or country.

In addition, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, Ms. Asai hosted "WALK on EARTH 2025," a hands-on stage event themed "Changing the World with the Power of Walking," as a co-creation challenge at the Expo in Osaka. The event was held as part of the TEAM EXPO 2025 "Co-Creation Challenge," with 390 co-creation members, and featured a spectacular visual presentation on a 360-degree screen and four stages: EARTH (nature), SPIRIT (self-expression), WORLD (diversity), and VOICE (the sound of sound). The four stages, EARTH (nature), SPIRIT (self-expression), WORLD (diversity), and VOICE (sound), express the possibilities contained in the most familiar act of walking.

Walking is important. But what kind of person you walk as is even more important. The performers, who transcended age, gender, and nationality, expressed the radiance of life and diverse cultures on the runway. The entire venue was filled with love and harmony.

It is expected that Japanese women will continue to contribute to the realization of a society where everyone can shine in their own way through walking, which is Ms. Asai's mission, by demonstrating internationally their compassionate and harmony-building leadership.
