Seraph Enomoto Co. (Location: Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; President: Osamu Enomoto; hereafter, "the Company"), which focuses on large-scale repair work for condominiums, has begun development of a dedicated robot arm (hereafter, "robot arm") that can be mounted on a "wall leak investigation robot" that performs water spray tests on wall surfaces. With the new arm, in addition to the conventional "investigation," we aim to perform simple on-the-spot repairs to leak-causing areas.

Background of Development

We have been developing a "wall leak inspection robot" that can locate leaks in a short period of time without the need for scaffolding by traveling along the wall surface and spraying high-pressure water. The existing robot can greatly improve the efficiency of the survey, but it requires scaffolding and additional work to repair the leak after the survey, which is time-consuming and costly for the management company and the occupants.

Aims of the Robot Arm Development

The newly developed robotic arm will be mounted on the main body of the robot to realize a system that can conduct surveys and minor repairs in an integrated manner. This will enable "simple on-the-spot repairs" to leaky or flooded areas, and is expected to bring the following benefits.

Shortening of the repair process by integrating the entire process from investigation to repair.

Significant cost reductions by reducing the need for scaffolding and the intervention of multiple contractors

Speedy response with less burden on the occupants

Prevent damage from spreading by immediately addressing urgent leaks.

Future Prospects

We will continue to improve the "wall leak inspection robot" and develop and verify the robot arm to create a new system that can seamlessly perform all processes from inspection to repair. We will continue to provide new value to building maintenance management by promoting efficiency in large-scale repair work and reducing the burden on residents.
