The NPO Ariake Shikinkai (Location: Nagasaki Prefecture, Representative: President Kishiko Kusano), which was launched after the Kumamoto Earthquake, has been conducting support activities in cooperation with DX Ariake Shikinkai for disaster-stricken areas, needy families, young caregivers, and children with medical care throughout Japan.

Through our support activities, we have taken the opportunity to convey to children what is important to them as human beings, and have also given lectures at educational research conferences in Nagasaki Prefecture and at various schools.

What has emerged from these activities is the serious issue of "the isolation of children who cannot go to school and children with foreign roots.

Background

Just because a child cannot go to school, it does not mean that the child should be deprived of the right to learn.

ICT education such as online learning and metaverse, which has accelerated in the wake of the Corona disaster, has great potential to provide a new place to stay and learning opportunities for children who are not attending school.

The NPO Ariake Shikinkai has petitioned the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to support truancy through ICT education and to expand the attendance treatment system, and has also provided support for smooth negotiations with the schools.

Full-scale online support has been launched to support children who are unable to attend school due to illness, non-attendance, or post-corona syndrome, and who are isolated at home with no opportunity to learn. Furthermore, for children who have roots in other countries and need Japanese language instruction, we provide learning support using ICT materials for Japanese language learning to support the learning of children with diverse backgrounds.
