Bye-bye! Bitten Nails: Before & After

About 1 in 3 children have bitten their nails.

It is reported that "about 1 in 3 children (28-33%) have bitten their nails" (Pacan P. et al., Acta Dermato-Venereologica, 2009).

In fact, bitten nails are one of the most common "problems" for many parents.

However, as the author, Kanako Naira, a nail specialist, points out, the reality is that many parents "have never seen their child's nails since the child was able to cut them by himself.

This book focuses on such "your child's nails" that are often neglected, especially "bitten nails," and tells how to seriously cure bitten nails by facing and communicating with parents and children.

Message from the Author

Bitten nails are often a sign from children's hearts.

Why can't it stop? "Even if I scold them, they don't change..."

I myself have faced the anxiety and confusion of parents with such problems for many years.

However, a little time spent "trimming" the nails, "touching" them, and "looking at each other" can be the magic that brings the parent and child closer together.

I became convinced of this through meeting many parents and children.

This book is the culmination of those experiences, and was born from the hope that it will be an opportunity for as many families as possible to connect their hearts and minds through "nails".

Nail Kids Therapy time will be an irreplaceable time of skinship, communication, and increased affection between parents and children.

We want children and parents who do not have bitten nails to experience this therapy through nail care time.

The goal is not just to make children's nails beautiful.

The goal is not only to make children's nails beautiful, but also for adults to gently listen to the "message" contained in their little fingertips.

We believe that such a gentle cycle will change the future.

We hope that this book will be a "first step" for you and your child.

We hope that we can continue to help support the smiling faces and healthy minds of parents and children.

●Message from the Editor

I was originally planning to write a book dealing with nail problems in general, but the deciding factor in my decision to focus on bitten nails was when I showed the author, Ms. Hanai Kanako, my son's fingertips, which had been ravaged by bitten nails, saying, "I'm afraid to show you..." I was afraid to show my son's fingertips.

A book focusing on bitten nails is an almost unprecedented theme in the publishing market. Moreover, a book on bitten nails that focuses on "children" is even rarer, and to be honest, some said it was "too niche.

However, as shown in the data mentioned above, one out of three children experiences bitten nails, and there are no small number of families who are troubled by their children's bitten nails. Having been a party to this myself, I was convinced that this was a book that society needed.

After practicing Nail Kids Therapy, my son regained healthy nails within 3 months, and thanks to the program, he still has shiny nails 8 months later. We have also been able to spend more time talking and skinship between parent and child.

I hope that this book will be an opportunity for many parents and children to change the problem of bitten nails into relief and smiles.
