Toa Brewery Co. (Head Office: Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Yasuhisa Nakata) announced today that on August 1, 2025 (Friday), it will release a new World Malt Whiskey "TONE - Hanyu World Malt," which is made by vatting carefully selected Scottish malt whiskies with the single malt whisky from the Hanyu distillery, where the company will resume distilling its own whisky in 2021, as key malt. On February 28, 2025, the company released Hanyu GENESIS, the first release from the Hanyu Distillery, a single malt whiskey, in a limited edition of 2021 bottles worldwide in honor of the resumption of distillation in 2021. On May 16 of the same year, the "Hanyu Distillery Visitor Center" was opened and tours of the whiskey production process began.

About the new product

This blended malt whisky is made by vatting several Scottish malt whiskies with the single malt whisky made at the Toa Shuzo Hanyu Distillery, which will resume its own distillation in 2021, as the key malt. The slightly sweet aroma derived from the non-peated malt whiskey aged in bourbon casks for about three years, and the slightly smoky and complex aroma and aftertaste derived from the peated malt whiskey also aged in bourbon casks for three years form the "TONE - Tone - Hanyu World Malt".

Based on the blending techniques that we have developed over many years, we have added depth not found in the 3-year-old Hanyu distillate by vatting several Scottish malt whiskies that have been stored for longer periods of time, creating a taste that is a perfect blend of whiskies.
