■Background of the initiative to solve social issues
In recent years, it is estimated that one in seven children in Japan lives in relative poverty, and this situation is becoming increasingly serious due to rising prices and widening economic disparities. In regional cities in particular, there is a lack of places for children to stay and food support compared to urban areas.
The founders of this project came face to face with the issue of child poverty through their own child-rearing experiences and university studies, and decided to take action in response to the question, "Is there anything we can do to help? In particular, her experience as a parent of a child with developmental disabilities has made her keenly aware of the need for a place where diverse children can spend time together in peace.
As I witnessed my son's anxiety about his future, the reality of child poverty that he learned about in college, and the hardships of living due to rising prices, I thought about what I could do to help. I decided to stand up for myself and create a place for a community to reach out to as many people as possible.
Features of the ■Cafe and the Children's Cafeteria
There are three features of this project. 1.
1) Fusion of a sandwich café and a children's cafeteria
While operating as one of the few sandwich specialty stores in Mito, the café will also serve as a children's cafeteria from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, open to children aged 3 to 17. Proceeds from the café operations will be used to cover the operating costs of the children's cafeteria, creating a sustainable support model. 2.
(2) Employment support
We will also provide employment support for those who are in financial difficulties, contributing to job creation and self-support in the community. We aim to revitalize the local economy with an eye to expanding sales channels by leveraging our previous experience in the retail industry.
3. formation of a local community
The store will not be just a restaurant, but will function as a "place of help" where local residents can gather and connect. Regular events and opinion exchange meetings will be held to provide a place where local residents can proactively participate.
The children's cafeteria will be launched approximately one month after the café opens, targeting children in Mito City and neighboring municipalities.
■Returns to supporters
We are offering the following returns to those who support this project.
1. support over 10,000 yen
- Issuance of a store annual pass
- Can be used all day, all items including take-out
- Expiration date: October 1, 2025 (to be shipped) to June 30, 2027
- Note: Valid for 1 year from the first visit (first visit until the end of July 2026)
2. other returns
- Various return gifts according to the amount
- Special returns for those who live too far away to visit the store
- Supporters will also be provided with opportunities to participate in meetings to exchange opinions on store development.
These returns are designed to provide ample value as a token of our gratitude to our supporters.
Project to Walk Together with Local Communities
To make this project a reality, we are currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign. The goal is 3 million yen, and the funds raised will be used to pay for store facilities, personnel, PR and advertising, and the purchase of return merchandise.
The project emphasizes working together with the local community, and plans to reflect the opinions of many people in the operation of the store by, for example, holding opinion exchange meetings with supporters.
We are planning to incorporate the opinions of many people into the operation of the store by holding meetings to exchange opinions with supporters. From the easy-to-enter location of a sandwich café, we hope to expand the smiles of local residents and create a place that will support the future of children in particular.
